The present invention relates to a dye composition for the oxidation dyeing of human keratin fibers, at a pH greater than or equal to 8, comprising at least one oxidation dye precursor, at least one fatty alcohol, at least one fatty ester and at least one cationic surfactant, where the weight ratio of the at least one fatty alcohol and the at least one fatty acid ester being greater than 2 and less than 10. The present invention relates to a process for dyeing keratin fibres, which comprises the application to the fibres of a composition containing at least one cationic polymer, rinsing of the keratin fibres, the application of a composition containing at least one anionic colored polymer, and rinsing of the keratin fibres.
