A vehicle seat comprising a seat proper, a back presenting at least a folding portion, a rigid plate between the seat proper and the folding portion, a control mechanism for locking the folding portion, and a control member. The control mechanism has a control piece that is pivotally mounted about an axis, said control piece being urged about the axis towards a rest position, the piece having a guide slot in which there slides a peg that is secured to the rigid plate, a first lateral branch extends to a closed end for receiving the peg when the folding portion is raised, and a second lateral branch extending to a closed end receives the peg when the folding portion is folded down.

The invention relates to a seat for an automobile vehicle including a seat cushion which supports a seat back and which is intended to be fixed on the vehicle floor by means of feet, the seat cushion comprising a seat cushion structure which includes at least two lateral flanges intended to support the seat back and at least two tubes transversely connecting the two flanges, at least two feet being added on each of the tubes. Each foot is spaced from the corresponding flange by a strut.

An armature assembly is provided for a vehicle seat. The assembly includes an armature having a central web extending in a plane substantially orthogonal to the transverse direction of the vehicle seat. A first flange extends from a first edge of the central web that is situated towards the outside of the seat, the first flange extending in a first direction toward an opposite side member. A second flange extends from a second edge of the central web that is situated towards the inside of the seat, the second flange being directed toward a second direction, opposite the first.

A vehicle seat has a cushion supported by a suspension web extending within a rigid frame. The suspension web is elastically deformable in traction in a longitudinal direction and it is fixed to the frame at one of its longitudinal ends, while its other longitudinal end is fixed to a portion of a raising mechanism enabling the height of the seat proper to be adjusted by the user acting directly on the seat proper. The suspension web exerts traction on the raising mechanism that urges the seat proper upwards.

A vehicle seat includes a seat part which is formed by a cushion secured to a first armature itself supported by a second armature on which the backrest is mounted, it being possible for the first armature to be moved back and forth with respect to the second armature. The first armature includes a rear part which is suspended from the second-armature by at least one rear connecting piece, and the first armature further includes a front part which is linked to the second armature by a front mechanism compatible with the rocking motion of the rear part of the first armature. When a user is seated in the seat, the first armature is urged backward by the weight of the user.

The invention relates to a seatback frame for a vehicle seat, comprising a lower structure provided with two side uprights, and an upper structure provided with a horizontal torsion bar surmounted by an arch. The first end of the torsion bar is prevented from rotating relative to one of the two uprights of the lower structure and is secured to one end of the arch. The second end of the torsion bar is mounted to pivot freely relative to the other side upright of the lower structure, while being secured to the other end of the arch. A seat belt is mechanically connected to the arch of the upper structure, with said upper structure being dimensioned so as to deform plastically when the seat belt is subjected to a traction force.

A vertically adjustable vehicle headrest has at least one slider translationally mounted in a guide. The slider has a plurality of locking notches regularly spaced along its length and a bistable headrest locking system is provided that includes a movably mounted cam that normally rests in a stable unlocked position relative to the notches thus allowing adjustable translational displacement of the slider relative to the guide. The cam is alternately movable to a stable locked position relative to the notches thus inhibiting translational displacement of the slider relative to the guide. A spring is mounted at a first end to a stationary member and at a second end to the cam for maintaining the cam in one of two bistable positions, namely, in a stable locked position or a stable unlocked position. The resilient device overcomes a biasing force when in the stable unlocked position and in response to rear impact to a vehicle that causes displacement of the cam to the stable locked position.
