A gearing assembly for a vehicle drivetrain. The assembly includes a first shaft rotating about a first shaft axis; a second shaft with a second shaft axis parallel to the first shaft axis; a first freewheel clutch gear mounted to the first shaft; a second gear mounted to the first shaft; a third freewheel clutch gear mounted to the second shaft and engaged with the second gear; and a fourth gear mounted to the second shaft and engaged with the first gear. When the first shaft rotational speed is greater than the second shaft rotational speed, the first shaft drives the second shaft via the second and third gear, the first gear being overrun; and when the second shaft rotational speed is greater than the first shaft rotational speed, the second shaft drives the first shaft via the fourth and first gear, the third gear being overrun.

Gear assembly for a vehicle

A vehicle including a frame; a front left suspension assembly with a front left wheel; a front right suspension assembly with a front right wheel; a front gear train; a motor; shafts connected between the front wheels and the front gear train. Each front suspension assembly including a knuckle including: a first portion connected to a wheel hub and including a first ball joint, and a second portion extending upward from the first portion and including a second ball joint; a lower A-arm connected to the first ball joint; an upper A-arm connected to the second ball joint; the second ball joint being distanced from the wheel axis by a distance greater than the inner rim radius; and a shock assembly connected to the lower A-arm and the frame, the shafts passing below the ball joint of the shock absorber assembly which is vertically higher than the shaft.

Front suspension assembly for an off-road vehicle

A vehicle including: a frame; front suspension assemblies and wheels; a rear left suspension assembly connected to the frame; a rear right suspension assembly connected to the frame; rear wheels having a wheel axis and an inner rim radius; a rear gear train; and a motor. Each rear suspension assembly including a swing arm; a shock assembly; a knuckle including: a first portion connected to a wheel hub, and a second portion extending upward from the first portion; a first link having an outward end connected to the first portion and an inward end connected to the frame; and a second link having an outward end connected to the second portion and an inward end connected to the frame, the outward end of the second link being distanced from the corresponding wheel axis by a distance greater than the inner rim radius.

Rear suspension assembly for an off-road vehicle

A power pack for a vehicle selected from a group of different vehicles is disclosed. The power pack includes an internal combustion engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) operatively connected to the engine. The CVT includes: a drive pulley operatively connected to a crankshaft of the engine, the drive pulley being rotatable about a drive pulley axis; a driven pulley rotatable about a driven pulley axis; a belt connecting the drive pulley to the driven pulley; and a housing at least partly enclosing the drive pulley, the driven pulley and the belt. The power pack also includes a sub-transmission selected from a group of different sub-transmissions depending on the selected vehicle. The selected sub-transmission is mounted to the housing of the CVT. The housing of the CVT is configured to mount any sub-transmission of the group of different sub-transmissions. A method for assembling a power pack is also provided.

A snowmobile has a frame having a tunnel, a motor mounted to the frame, the motor having a motor shaft, at least one ski operatively connected to the frame and a continuously variable transmission. The continuously variable transmission has a driving pulley operatively connected to the motor shaft, a driven pulley, and a drive belt looped around the driving pulley and the driven pulley. The snowmobile also has a drive track operatively connected to the driven pulley, a flexible mechanical element operatively connecting the drive track to the driven pulley, the drive track rotating in a first direction during operation of the snowmobile, and at least one of the motor shaft. The driving pulley and the driven pulley rotate in a second direction opposite the first direction during operation of the snowmobile.

A vehicle has a body. A pivotable seat has a front portion pivotally connected to the body about a front pivot point and extending rearwardly therefrom to a back portion. A rear left leg is pivotally connected to the body about a left lower pivot point and to the back portion to about a left upper pivot point. A rear right leg is pivotally connected to the body about a right lower pivot point and to the back portion about a right upper pivot point. A distance between the lower pivot points is greater than a distance between the upper pivot points. The seat is pivotable relative to the body about an instantaneous seat pivot axis passing through the front pivot point, a left axis extending through the left upper and lower pivot points, and a right axis extending through the right upper and lower pivot points.

A track assembly for a vehicle has an endless track having a belt disposed on an inner side thereof, a frame member, a first axle connected to the frame member and disposed at least in part inside the track, a first pulley disposed inside the endless track and mounted to the first axle, the first pulley being rotatable relative to the frame member, the belt being received in part inside the first pulley, a second axle connected to the frame member and disposed at least in part inside the track, a second pulley disposed inside the endless track and mounted to the second axle, the belt being received in part inside the second pulley, and a brake assembly operatively connected to one of the first and second pulleys. A snowmobile having the track assembly is also disclosed.

Front track assembly for a snowmobile

A straddle-type tracked vehicle comprises a frame and a foot board pivotally connected to the frame. A retainer selectively prevents the foot board from pivoting with respect to the frame. An actuator, operatively connected to at least one operative system of the vehicle, has a pedal disposed at least in part vertically above the foot board. In a first state of the retainer, the foot board is fixed in a default position by the retainer. The pedal is movable between a first position and a second position. The second position is vertically below the first position and vertically above the default position of the foot board. In a second state of the retainer, the foot board pivots such that at least a front of the foot board is at a position vertically below the default position. The pedal is movable to a third position vertically below the second position.

A ski and front track assembly has a track assembly including: an endless track, and at least two wheels disposed inside the track. At least one of the at least two wheels is disposed forwardly of at least one other of the at least two wheels. The ski and front track assembly also has a front ski element connected to the track assembly and extending forwardly therefrom. The front ski element is pivotable about a steering axis together with the track assembly. A snowmobile having the ski and front track assembly is also disclosed. A track assembly having a braking system and a snowmobile having the track assembly are also disclosed.

A watercraft trailer has a watercraft receiving portion and a lower frame adapted to support a watercraft in the watercraft receiving portion. The lower frame has at least one longitudinally extending lower frame member. The trailer also has a hitch coupler connected to a front of the lower frame, a first wheel and a second wheel operatively connected to the lower frame, and a walk board connected to the lower frame.

Watercraft trailer

A method of securing a watercraft to a watercraft trailer is disclosed. The method includes driving the watercraft in a watercraft receiving portion of the trailer, moving a lever towards a front of the trailer in response to a hull of the watercraft coming into contact with the lever, and retaining a pin connected to the hull of the watercraft in response to the lever moving towards the front of the trailer. A method of releasing a watercraft from a watercraft trailer is also disclosed.

A watercraft trailer has a releasable connector for releasably connecting a watercraft to the trailer. The releasable connector has a lever pivotally connected to a connector support and a hook connected to the lever. Pivoting of the lever towards a front of the trailer moves the releasable connector to a locked position and pivots the hook towards the front of the trailer. A locking mechanism prevents the releasable connector from moving to an unlocked position by applying forces to any one of the lever and the hook that would otherwise pivot the lever and the hook towards a rear of the trailer. Unlocking the locking mechanism moves the releasable connector to the unlocked position and pivots the hook towards the rear of the trailer. A method of securing a watercraft to a watercraft trailer and a method of releasing a watercraft from a watercraft trailer are also disclosed.

A watercraft trailer has a watercraft receiving portion and a lower frame adapted to support a watercraft in the watercraft receiving portion. The lower frame has at least one a longitudinally extending member, a front portion, and a rear portion, a rearmost part of the rear portion being a rear end. The trailer also has a hitch coupler connected to the front portion of the lower frame, a first wheel, having a rotation axis, and a second wheel operatively connected to the lower frame. The trailer has a longitudinally extending intake protector connected to the rear portion of the lower frame. At least a portion of the intake protector is disposed between the rotation axis and the rear end of the lower frame, such that when the watercraft is received in the watercraft receiving portion, the intake protector is disposed below at least a portion of the watercraft.

A frame assembly is described including a tunnel, an engine cradle disposed forward of the tunnel and connected thereto, and a sub-frame disposed forward of the engine cradle and connected thereto. A forward support assembly extends upwardly from the subframe. An upper column extends upwardly from the engine cradle to connect with the forward support assembly. A rear brace assembly extends upwardly from the tunnel to connect with the forward support assembly and the upper column. In one embodiment, the frame assembly further includes an engine disposed in the engine cradle. An endless track is operatively connected to the engine and disposed beneath the tunnel for propulsion. A pair of skis is operatively connected to a steering device for steering. In another embodiment, the frame assembly further includes an engine disposed in the engine cradle. A rear wheel is operatively connected to the engine and disposed beneath the tunnel for propulsion, and two front wheels are operatively connected to a steering device for steering.

Frame construction for a vehicle

A novel three-wheeled straddle type vehicle for operation by at least one rider is disclosed having a split radiator () located on opposite sides of the vehicle frame. The location of the split radiator () on the sides of the frame create a storage compartment in the front portion of the vehicle frame.
