In a method for training a gesture recognition model, gesture data is collected from an inertial measurement unit (IMU) positioned on one side of a user, wherein the IMU is capable of collecting data when positioned on either side of the user. A transformation is applied to the gesture data, wherein the transformation generates transformed gesture data that is independent of either side of the user. A gesture recognition model is trained using the transformed gesture data.

In a method for operating a fingerprint sensor including a plurality of ultrasonic transducers, receiving a plurality of images corresponding to different subsets of the ultrasonic transducers of the fingerprint sensor are received, wherein the plurality of images are non-adjacent. For each image of the plurality of images, it is determined whether the image of the plurality of images is indicative of a fingerprint. Provided a number of images of the plurality of images that are indicative of a fingerprint satisfies a threshold, it is determined whether the images of the plurality of images that are indicative of a fingerprint are collectively indicative of a fingerprint. Provided the plurality of images are collectively indicative of a fingerprint, it is determined that the plurality of images include a fingerprint.

In a method for evaluating a darkfield image for contamination, it is determined whether an object is interacting with a fingerprint sensor. Provided an object is not interacting with the fingerprint sensor, a darkfield candidate image is captured at a fingerprint sensor. The darkfield candidate image is evaluated for contamination. Based on the evaluating, it is determined whether the darkfield candidate image includes contamination.

Darkfield contamination detection

In a method for modeling a darkfield candidate image at a sensor, a plurality of darkfield images of the sensor is captured, wherein each darkfield image of the plurality of darkfield images is associated with a different operational condition of the sensor. An operational condition of the sensor is determined. A darkfield candidate image comprising a combination of the plurality of darkfield images is modeled based at least in part on the operational condition of the sensor, wherein a contribution of each darkfield image of the plurality of darkfield images is dependent on the operational condition.

Darkfield modeling

In a method for darkfield tracking at a sensor, it is determined whether an object is interacting with the sensor. Provided an object is not interacting with the sensor, a determination that a darkfield candidate image can be captured at the sensor is made. It is determined whether to capture a darkfield candidate image at the sensor based at least in part on the determination that a darkfield candidate image can be captured at the sensor. Responsive to making a determination to capture the darkfield candidate image, the darkfield candidate image is captured at the sensor, wherein the darkfield candidate image is an image absent an object interacting with the sensor. A darkfield estimate is updated with the darkfield candidate image.

Darkfield tracking

In a method of segmented image acquisition at a sensor, a plurality of segments of an image are concurrently captured, wherein pixels of each segment of the plurality of segments are captured according to a pixel capture sequence. The pixel capture sequence for at least one segment of the plurality of segments is a non-progressive sequence for controlling a timing difference between pixel capture for proximate pixels of adjacent segments. The image including the plurality of segments is generated.

System for inputting graphical elements

The invention applies to a pointing device of a mobile element, for example a cursor, on a plane surface. The pointing device comprises a first sensor for measuring the angular rates of the device and a second sensor of the linear accelerations along three dimensions of said device. Preferably, the first sensor is a two-axis or three-axis gyrometer and the second sensor is a three-axis accelerometer. The invention makes it possible to render the movements of the mobile element in the surface of the orientation in which the pointing device is held by its user. This result is achieved by global resolution of the angles of torsion by combining the measurements of the first and second sensors either within an extended Kalman filter or by application of an optimization criterion. The invention also provides a method for estimating the parameters which characterize motion and/or orientation of an object in space from said combination of the measurements of the first and second sensors either within an extended Kalman filter or by application of an optimization criterion.

A system for counting a basic displacement of a person includes a housing (BT) and a fixing device (EF) for securely mounting the housing (BT) on the person. Within the housing are a magnetometer for measuring the direction of the terrestrial magnetic field in the reference frame of the housing, a device for determining a quantity representative of the inclination of the measured magnetic field with respect to the vertical, and a device for detecting a change of orientation of an orthogonal projection of the direction of the terrestrial magnetic field in a horizontal planar reference frame having axes of constant directions and tied in translation to the person, on the basis of the measured direction of the magnetic field and of the quantity representative of the inclination of the magnetic field with respect to the vertical.

Processing method for capturing movement of an articulated structure

Magnetic traffic control system

An optical device for measuring the displacement velocity of a first movable element in relation to a second element which is fixed to one of said elements and comprises two lasers transmitting two incident beams towards the other elements. The device including photosensitive linear arrays for front and rear detection which are substantially perpendicular to each other. Additional front and rear photosensitive linear arrays are disposed at a distance from the photosensitive front and rear linear arrays. A processing circuit is connected to the photosensitive linear arrays and determines the longitudinal and/or transversal displacement velocity of the movable element. The circuit also determines the distance between the device and the other element by means of optical triangulation and corrects the longitudinal and/or transversal displacement velocity value according of the said distance.

Optical device for measuring the displacement velocity of a first moving element with respect to a second element

An installation includes at least one magnetic field source, measuring equipment fixed onto a freely movable object whose motion is to be detected, and control equipment. The measuring equipment includes a magnetometer able to measure the magnetic field it is surrounded by, a comparator able to test the magnetic field value against a threshold value, and a transmitter for transmitting a signal representing the result of this test. The control equipment receives this signal and derives therefrom the object displacement and/or its proximity to the source.

Telesurveillance installation and operating process thereof

Method for determining the position or the orientation of an object using a magnetic field and corresponding device. The fields produced by sources (S, S, S) are coded, for example, by pseudo-random binary sequences. In this way it is possible, in a sensor () fixed to the object, to distinguish the respective contributions of different sources.
