A sterilised platelet lysate obtained with a method for sterilising a platelet lysate in the liquid state comprising at least the endogenous growth factors TGF-beta 1, EGF, PDGF-AB, IGF-1, VEGF and bFGF. The method comprising freezing the liquid platelet lysate in order to obtain a frozen platelet lysate, and irradiating the frozen platelet lysate with ionising radiation in order to obtain a sterilised platelet lysate, the irradiation being adapted so as to preserve at least 80% of the concentration of at least one of the endogenous growth factors chosen from the group consisting of TGF-beta 1, EGF, PDGF-AB, IGF-1 and VEGF.

Method for sterilising a platelet lysate

The invention relates to a method for preparing an irradiated platelet lysate, comprising the steps of providing a starting platelet lysate having platelet factors including growth factors and plasma proteins including coagulation factors and proteins other than the coagulation factors. Double irradiation of the starting platelet lysate, using UVC radiation and ionizing radiation. The double irradiation with UVC radiation and ionizing radiation being arranged to retain at least 75% of the total protein concentration of the starting platelet lysate, while reducing, by at least 40%, the concentration of at least one of the coagulation factors including fibrinogen, factor II, factor VII, factor IX, factor X and factor XI of the starting platelet lysate.

Method for preparing an irradiated platelet lysate

A method for sterilising a platelet lysate in the liquid state comprising at least the endogenous growth factors TGF-beta 1, EGF, PDGF-AB, IGF-1, VEGF and bFGF. The method comprising freezing the liquid platelet lysate in order to obtain a frozen platelet lysate, and irradiating the frozen platelet lysate with ionising radiation in order to obtain a sterilised platelet lysate, the irradiation being adapted so as to preserve at least 80% of the concentration of at least one of the endogenous growth factors chosen from the group consisting of TGF-beta 1, EGF, PDGF-AB, IGF-1 and VEGF.

The invention relates to a matrix in ball form comprising cross-linked fibrinogen, the matrix being free from fibrin, as well as to a method for preparing such a matrix, comprising the following steps: (a) providing an initial composition comprising fibrinogen and a platelet factor; (b) injecting said initial composition into an oil heated to a temperature of 50&#xb0; C. to 80&#xb0; C. so as to form an emulsion; (c) mixing the emulsion thus obtained at a temperature of 50&#xb0; C. to 80&#xb0; C. until a matrix in ball form is obtained; and (d) isolating the matrix thus obtained. The matrix is used as a cell carrier.
