An optical fiber cable connection organizer device includes a support assembly with lateral accessways for the fibers of the cables, an arrangement for holding splices between the fibers and an arrangement for stowing a surplus length of the jointed fibers. It further includes two sets of magazines for stowing additional slack in the fibers from the two cables. Applications include submarine optical fiber cable joint boxes.

A machine for overmolding an equipment of an underwater cable includes a heated mold. The mold has a fixed half-mold with two side injection molding inlets and a mobile half-mold on a machine frame. These are coupled to a high-pressure injection molding press through an overmolding material distribution chamber and to the ends of the mold cavity. The machine finds an application in overmolding joint boxes and repeater housings.

The splice device for splicing together two under-sea cables, each of which has a bundle of optical fibers protected inside a protective tube and armoring wires stranded on an inner sheath covering the protective tube, includes a strong support mounted on the protective tubes for protecting the two bundles of fibers, which bundles are welded together. In the splice device the support is locked on the protective tubes between the inner sheaths of the cables, and it receives firstly the end portions of the armoring wires, tensioned longitudinally in one layer on its periphery, and secondly an outer metal sleeve crimped on said support and on the armoring wires between the support and the sleeve.
