The invention relates to a sampler for analytical detection systems, comprising a slide sealingly housed between two guide walls and movable to put a housing thereof from a sample receiving position to a sample delivering position and viceversa, said housing being washed by an inert gas into the sample receiving position in order to completely eliminate the environmental atmosphere from said housing notwithstanding such housing is opened to said atmosphere in the sample receiving position thereof.

Sampler for analytical detection systems

A method and apparatus for the quantitative determination of very small percentages of sulphur in sample analysis is carried out by means of sample combustion in a helium current temporarily enriched with oxygen, subsequent catalytic oxidation and reduction of the combustion gases, gas chromatographic separation and detection in a thermal conductivity detector. At the outlet of this thermal conductivity detector the products are fed to a water trap and to a sulphur selective detector of the flame photometric type to detect sulphur contents below 0.5 .mu.g.

Method and apparatus for the analysis of sulphur contents in samples

A method and apparatus are disclosed for chemical analysis of specimens in order to detect the presence and percentages of given chemical elements (C, N, H, S and O) therein. Said specimen is subjected to known chemical treatments in order to reveal said elements, which elements are detected and revealed as peaks of a curve traced by the apparatus, each peak corresponding to an analyzed and detected element. The surface area of each element peak is then correlated with that of the other element peaks in order to obtain a series of ratios between said areas. Such ratios are then compared, for each element pairs, with an experimentally determined graph which is valuable for each element pair in all specimens and gives a ratio between the numbers of atoms of said element pair, so that from said ratios between the numbers of atoms of all analyzed and detected elements, a reduced formula of the specimen composition may be obtained. When the specimen is weighed, besides said reduced formula, it is possible to statistically locate a probable composition for the residue of the specimen molecule.
