A method for the heterogeneous catalysis of a chemical reaction using, in a reactor, at least one reagent and a catalytic composition that can catalyze the reaction within a given range of temperatures T. At least one reagent is brought into contact with the catalytic composition which includes a ferromagnetic nanoparticulate component whose surface is formed at least partially by a compound that is a catalyst for the reaction; the nanoparticulate component is heated by magnetic induction in order to reach a temperature within the range of temperatures T; and the reaction product(s) formed on the surface of the nanoparticulate component are recovered. A catalytic composition includes a ferromagnetic nanoparticulate component that can be heated by magnetic induction to the reaction temperature, whose surface thereof is at least partially formed by a catalyst compound for the reaction. The catalyst is heated by the effect of the magnetic field.

A surface of a silicon substrate is coated with a silicon oxide layer. A manganese silicate layer is then deposited on the silicon oxide layer using a process of performing at least one step of dipping the substrate into a manganese amidinate solution. A copper layer is then deposited on the manganese silicate layer using a process of performing a step of dipping the substrate into a copper amidinate solution. An anneal is performed to stabilize one or both of the manganese silicate layer and copper layer.

The present invention provides a single-step process that requires the deposition of a substrate in a mixture of a solvent, ligands and organometallic precursors. The mixture containing the substrate is heated under pressure in a dihydrogen environment for a predetermined period of time, during which supercrystals of nanoparticles form on the substrate.

A magnetic nanoparticle (), a magnetic nanomaterial (), assembly (), and a method for synthsising a magnetic nanoparticle, relating to thermodynamically stable and air stable ferromagnetic nanoparticles of adjustable aspect ratio made upon decomposition of organometallic precursors in solution in the presence of a reaction gas and a mixture of organic ligands. The magnetic nanomaterial comprises magnetic nanoparticles of homogeneous size, shape, and magnetic orientation that comprises a magnetic core () ferromagnetic at room temperature and/or operating temperatures, and a non-magnetic matrix () encapsulating the magnetic core. This magnetic nanomaterial could be used in high frequency integrated circuit applications, such as used in wireless portable electronic devices, to enchance magnetic field confinement and improve passive component performance at MHz and GHz frequency in a variety of passive and active devices, such as transformers, on-chip signal isolation, inductors, and the like.
