A process for preparing a crosslinked fluoropolymer film, including the successive steps of: (1) formulating an ink containing: (a) the product of the reaction of triethylamine with at least one fluorinated copolymer obtained by radical copolymerization of monomers including: (i) vinylidene fluoride (VDF), (ii) trifluoroethylene (TrFE), (iii) at least one chlorinated monomer of formula &#x2014;CXCl&#x2550;CXXwhere X, Xand Xindependently denote H, F or CF, wherein at most one of X, Xand Xdenotes CF; (b) at least one crosslinking agent; (c) at least one photoinitiator; and (d) at least one organic solvent; (2) applying said ink in film form to a substrate; and (3) UV-irradiating said film. Also, the film capable of being obtained according to this process, and also to the uses thereof, in particular in the manufacture of (opto)electronic devices and more particularly in the manufacture of a gate dielectric layer in a field-effect transistor.

Method for preparing a cross-linked fluorinated polymer film

The present invention relates to the use of a fluorinated copolymer in the manufacture of a solid polymer film, to give said film properties of adhesion to a metal surface or to glass. It also relates to a process for improving the adhesion of a fluoropolymer to a metal, polymer or glassy substrate, and also to a composite part comprising a solid polymer film in direct contact with at least one metal or glassy element.

Disclosed are porous membranes including a porous support and a coating comprising a copolymer having monomeric units A and B, and optionally monomeric units C; wherein A is a halogenated vinyl monomer other than tetrafluoroethylene, a halogenated alkyl vinyl ether, or an alkene of the formula CH, wherein n is 1-6; B is a perfluoro (alkyl vinyl)ether compound, a perfluoroalkyl vinyl compound, or a perfluoro alkoxyalkyl vinyl ether compound, each compound having one or more sulfonic acid groups or a salt thereof, one or more sulfonyl fluoride groups, one or more sulfonamide groups, or one or more sulfonate ester groups, and C is vinylidene fluoride. Also disclosed are methods of preparing such porous membranes and methods of treating fluids by the use of these membranes.

Porous membrane having a fluorinated copolymer as surface treatment

The invention relates to a fluorinated copolymers which are particularly based on vinylidene fluoride (VDF) or trifluoroethylene (TrFE) and particularly functionalized by functional and/or functionizable vinyl ethers. Methods for the synthesis of CTFE-based block copolymers through iodine transfer polymerization are disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a method includes reacting a fluoromonomer 'M' with a chain transfer agent of the formula X&#x2014;Y or Y&#x2014;X&#x2014;Y, wherein X represents a C-Chydrocarbon, a C-Chydrofluorocarbon, C-Chydrochlorofluorocarbon, or C-Cfluorocarbon and Y represents iodine or bromine, in the presence of a radical initiator, to form a macro-initiator of the formula: X-poly(M)-Y or Y-poly(M)-X-poly(M)-Y, wherein poly(M) represents a polymer of the fluoromonomer. The method further includes reacting the macro-initiator with chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE) in the presence of a radical initiator to form a diblock or a triblock CTFE-based block copolymer of the formula: X-poly(M)-block-poly(CTFE) or PCTFE-block-poly(M)-X-poly(M)-block-PCTFE.
