One general aspect includes a system to translate language exhibited on a publicly viewable sign, the system including: a memory configured to include one or more executable instructions and a processor configured to execute the executable instructions, where the executable instructions enable the processor to carry out the steps of: reviewing the sign; translating relevant information conveyed on the sign from a first language to a second language; and producing an output in an interior of a vehicle, the output based on the second language of the relevant information.

The present application relates to a method and apparatus for determining a preferred off-road vehicle path including a lidar operative to generate a depth map of an off road surface, a camera for capturing an image of the off road surface, a processor operative to receive the depth map, determine a vehicle path in response to the depth map and a host vehicle characteristic, combine a graphical representation of the vehicle path with the image to generate an augmented image, and a display to display the augmented image to a host vehicle operator.

Methods, systems, and vehicles are provided for recording vehicle data. In accordance with one embodiment, a vehicle comprises a wheel, a plurality of cameras, and a processor. The plurality of cameras and the processor are disposed onboard the vehicle. The processor is configured to at least facilitate determining whether the vehicle is engaging in a turn, and providing instructions for the plurality of cameras to automatically record a view of the wheel when it is determined that the vehicle is engaging in the turn.

A method for providing a high resolution display image that includes providing a camera image that can be processed into at least two different camera views. The method also includes identifying a warped grid in each of the at least two different camera views and identifying a minimum field of view for displaying each of the at least two different camera views. The method further includes cropping the camera image based on the identified minimum field of view and de-warping the at least two different camera views to provide the high resolution display image.

Methods, control systems, and vehicle are provided for controlling a vehicle that has a rechargeable energy storage system (RESS). A method includes storing with a control module a chosen outside air temperature (OAT) that is based on data from an OAT sensor and a cooling cycle of the RESS, and controlling the vehicle with the chosen OAT when a cooling cycle of the RESS is indicated. The control system and vehicle include control modules configured to perform the method.
