The disclosed computer-implemented method may include accessing a media item that includes multiple media item segments that are to be played back in a specific manner. The method may also include generating playgraphs for the media item, where the playgraphs define different playback paths between media item segments. The method may next include selecting a specific playgraph from the generated playgraphs, and then providing the selected playgraph to a playback device. Playback of the media item according to the selected playgraph may thereby provide a customized presentation of the media item. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Methods and systems for providing dynamically composed personalized media assets

A file management system provides one or more virtual file listing displays through which a user can select and access files and an improved password vault created through the file management system. When files listed in the one or more virtual file listing displays are selected for access, the appropriate parent data processing application(s), and/or version(s) of the appropriate parent data processing application(s), is/are identified by the file management system and the appropriate parent data processing application(s) is/are opened/launched automatically through the file management system. The individual passwords associated with the selected files are then automatically provided to the appropriate parent data processing application(s) by the password vault, and/or through the file management system. The file management system, and improved password vault, are then used to automatically perform file processing functions, such as batch processing of files and/or file restoration.

Method and system for providing a file management system including automated file processing features

One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that transparently maps a request to open a data file. First, the system receives a request from a user or client application to open the data file. Next, the system determines from file meta information that the file is a relational data file, and proceeds to transparently map the file open operation to a corresponding relational database operation by discovering a database service configured to manage the relational data file and then sending a request to open the relational data file to this database service. By transparently mapping the file open operation to the corresponding relational database operation, the system allows an underlying data file to be changed to a relational data file without changing the way the user interacts with the client application and/or data file.
