A process for monitoring load conditions on a lifting machine having a rated load moment includes determining an actual load moment of the lifting machine due a weighted load. The actual load moment may be determined by measuring a tilt pressure within a hydraulic tilt cylinder of the lifting machine, and then calculating the actual load moment from the tilt pressure within the hydraulic tilt cylinder. The location of a center of gravity of the weighted load is also determined by measuring a lift pressure within a hydraulic lift cylinder of the lifting machine, and then calculating the weight of the weighted load from the lift pressure. Once the weight is determined, the location of the center of gravity of the weighted load may be found using the actual load moment and the calculated weight. Information about the weight and the location of the center of gravity of the weighted load may be also provided to a user as well as warnings if the operating parameters of the lifting machine are in danger of being exceeded or actually exceeded. If a load pressure switch of the lifting machine is activated, at the very least, the lifting function of the machine will be disabled.

Hydraulic stabilizer system and process for monitoring load conditions

A rebound-type exercise device is provided which allows an individual to perform a sit and bounce exercises that, among other things, stimulate the lymphatic circulation. The exercise device includes a support frame which supports a seat assembly by means of four springs. The support frame includes a pair of laterally spaced apart side support frames which are interconnected by a head tube. Each side support frame includes a generally horizontal ground-engaging base tube, a rearwardly disposed, generally vertical rear support tube extending upwardly from the base tube, and a generally L-shaped arm which interconnects a front portion of the base tube with the upper end of the rear support tube. The exercise device of the present invention may be advantageously utilized in an exercise methodology intended to stimulate lymphatic circulation, wherein an individual seated within the support frame on the seat assembly continuously moves upwardly and downwardly in vertical harmonic motion through a range of two to eight inches. Such bouncing-type motion utilizing the exercise device of the present invention allows an individual, in a seated position, to become more fit by improving his or her endurance, strength/toning and lymphatic circulation in a safe and secure manner.

Sit and bounce exercise device

A seawater hydraulic rock drill having a trigger which when engaged by a diver allows pressurized seawater to be directed through an open supply poppet valve assembly into a drive chamber having a plunger. The pressurized seawater drives the plunger into a piston, an anvil, and a drill bit creating a percussive impact into a rock surface breaking up the rock surface. At the same time pressurized seawater exits the drive chamber through an orifice into a reversible seawater hydraulic motor which rotates the drill bit thereby pulverizing the broken rock. As the plunger approaches the end of a drive cycle, the supply poppet is pressurized closing the supply poppet valve assembly and cutting off the flow of seawater to the drive chamber. Pressurized seawater then drives the piston and plunger to their initial positions, the supply poppet valve assembly opens, and the cycle is repeated.

Seawater hydraulic rock drill

A string tension transmitting device positionable against an outwardly facing head frame surface of a stringed sports racket. The tension transmitting devices receive and support the racket string thereover. The devices are adapted to the head frame surface to form a rocking relation therewith. Relatively greater tension in one string chord can be transmitted through the tension transmitting device to an associated string chord. Such transmission of tension allows strain energy to be stored in several string chords in addition to chords directly contacted by the ball or other impacting object. This results in a larger overall deflection of the string face of the racket and a lower peak dynamic string tension. The tension transmitting device includes rocker members that can be received between the string and racket head as it wraps over the outer racket head surface. The rockers receive the string along string receiving surfaces such as grooves formed in top surfaces of the rocker members. Opposite the string receiving surfaces are rocker surfaces that provide for relatively friction-free rocking engagement against the outer surface of the racket head frame. Also disclosed are rackets adapted with the string tension transmitting devices.

String tension transmitting apparatus

The present invention makes use of tension transmitting device between an outward head frame surface and string chords such that tension along one string chord can be transmitted through the tension transmitting device to the next adjacent string chord. Transmission of tension allows strain energy to be stored in several string chords instead of only those directly contacted by the impacting object. This results in larger string deflection with a smaller increase in string tension. A first form of the tension transmitting device is an independent rocker member that can be received between the string as it wraps over the outer racket head surface between adjacent holes. The rockers receive the string along top rocker surfaces. Bottom rocker surfaces are substantially cylindrical for friction-free rocking engagement against the outer surface of the racket head frame. Tension applied along one of the string chord segments will therefore be directly transmitted through rocking motion of the rocker device to the adjacent string chords throughout the entire string length.
