A threaded closure comprises a vent assembly that can be actuated to release pressure from a container on which the closure is located. The vent assembly is made from a flexible material that allows a vent to be uncovered by tearing the material. In one embodiment, the vent assembly allows pressure to be released form a container prior to removal of the closure.

A scraper blade has a tip of hard material and a base of resilient material. The base has at least one concave surface on the front side adjacent to the base and may have an additional concave surface on the back side adjacent to the tip. When the blade is urged against a conveyor belt for removing material, a substantial vertical force created by a significant obstruction on the belt will compress the scraper blade and will cause the blade to deform and move away from the belt until the obstruction has passed. A scraper blade system includes the scraper blade and an adjustment block for holding and adjusting the scraper blade against the conveyor belt.

A product holding puck having a base including an outer wall and a radially spaced apart inner wall defining a cavity between the outer and inner walls, the outer and inner walls extending axially about a central vertical axis. The outer wall of the puck defining first and second recessed regions and first and second openings respectively aligned with the first and second recessed regions and extending through the outer wall. The puck further including first and second bumpers each including a body and a support member, the support member extending axially through a respective ones of the first and second openings of the outer wall and the body disposed in a respective ones of the first and second recessed regions of the outer wall, the body of each of the first and second bumpers including an outer face extending radially outwardly of an outer surface of the outer wall.

A closure device includes a top wall, a skirt depending from the top wall, and a plurality of pads arranged circumferentially on the top wall, the pads extending into a space formed by the top wall and the skirt, the spaced pads configured to vent gas between adjacent pairs of pads during molding of a liner material against the top wall. A method of forming a liner in a closure device includes applying a moldable material to a top wall of the closure device, engaging a face of a punch of a liner-molding device with pads arranged on the top wall, the pads extending into a space formed by the top wall and a skirt depending from the top wall, compressing the moldable material by the punch against the top wall to form the liner, and venting gas between adjacent pairs of pads during the compressing step.
