A patient interface includes a frame assembly including connectors operatively attachable to headgear, a cushion assembly provided to the frame assembly and including a seal-forming structure structured to form a seal with the patient's nose and/or mouth, and an air delivery connector provided to the frame assembly and operatively connected to an air delivery tube for supplying the air at positive pressure along an air flow path. The cushion assembly is structured to releasably connect to the frame assembly independently of the air delivery connector. The air delivery connector is structured to releasably connect to the frame assembly independently of the cushion assembly.

Patient interface

A manufactured component, such as headgear or a headgear strap, for a patient interface for delivery of pressurised air or breathable gas to an entrance of a patient's airways may include a textile portion having a first material with a first melting point. It may also include a plastic portion over-moulded to the textile portion. The plastic portion may be formed of a second material having a second melting point. The melting points may be different such that the second melting point is chosen to be less than the first melting point of the first material. The component may be moulded in a multi-step process that moulds separate portions of the plastic portion and the textile portion at different times. The resulting plastic portion may then have a mechanical bond with the textile and may do so without significant chemical bonding between the plastic portion and the textile.

Plastic to textile coupling for a patient interface and methods of manufacturing same

A patient interface includes a plenum chamber pressurisable to a therapeutic pressure, and a seal-forming structure constructed and arranged to seal with a region of a patient's face surrounding an entrance to a patient's airways. The seal-forming structure is constructed and arranged to maintain the therapeutic pressure in the plenum chamber throughout a patient's respiratory cycle in use. The patient interface also includes a positioning and stabilizing structure configured to hold the seal-forming structure in a therapeutically effective position on a patients head. The positioning and stabilizing structure includes a rear strap arranged to contact an occiput of the patient's head. The rear strap is constructed from a first material is arranged to contact a temporal region of the patient's head, and a second material arranged to contact the occiput of the patients head. The second material is silicone.

Respiratory mask

A mask system for use between a patient and a structure to deliver a breathable gas to the patient includes a mask assembly including a frame, a cushion provided to the frame, and optionally an elbow provided to the frame. Headgear is removably attached to the mask assembly to maintain the mask assembly in a desired position on a patient's face. The headgear includes a top strap, crown straps which cooperate to form a round shape adapted to accommodate a crown of the patient's head, and bottom straps.

An apparatus for improving patient comfort during CPAP therapy includes a venting arrangement arranged to reduce expiratory pressure. A mask system for providing CPAP therapy to a patient includes a mask; a flow generator to provide a flow of pressurized breathable gas; a tube to connect the mask to the flow generator; and a venting arrangement arranged to reduce expiratory pressure.

Systems for reducing exhalation pressure in a mask system

A mechanism for releasing a mask from a patient's face includes a frame part including a male connection and a frame engagement portion for engaging a cooperating portion on a frame of the mask. A headgear part includes a female connection that is adapted to receive the male connection when the frame part is inserted into the headgear part, and a headgear engagement portion for engaging a cooperating portion on headgear of the mask. A cord has one end secured to the male connection, such that when the cord is pulled by the patient the male connection disengages from the female connection and consequently the frame part separates from the headgear part releasing the mask from the patient's face. A method of releasing a mask from a patient's face includes pulling a cord away from a frame of the mask to release a latch of the mask frame from a latch receiving portion of a headgear of the mask to release the latch from the latch receiving portion.
