A draper assembly for a crop pick-up has an endless draper belt assembly wrapped around a smaller front roller and a larger rear drive roller where the endless draper belt assembly is formed by four endless belts connected side by side at spaced positions along their length for common movement around the rollers. A tracking guide device is defined by a plurality of plastic guide elements mounted in a row on an inside surface of one belt at longitudinally spaced positions along the belt length which cooperates with a groove in the drive roller so that there are least two guide elements in the groove at any point in time. The guide elements are wider than their length and can be fastened through the belt so as to connect to the mounting of some of the fingers on the exterior of the belt.

Guide arrangement for the draper of a combine harvester pick-up

A crop pick-up frame has mountings for attachment to the feeder house of a combine harvester with a pick up assembly having transverse tine bars parallel to a transverse axis which move in a composite movement both around the transverse axis and parallel to the transverse axis such that each tine describes a closed path around the transverse axis and inclined to a radial plane of the transverse axis. Behind the bars is a belt conveyor followed by a converging auger where the belt conveyor is offset to one side relative to the bars so that the ends of the bars define a first path of travel at a first end of the bars and a second path of travel at a second end of the bars and the belt conveyor is offset such that one side edge extends beyond an outermost part of the second path of travel.

Crop pick-up assembly

A draper header for a combine harvester includes two side drapers each running from an outer end guide roller at a first end of the header to an inner end guide roller adjacent the discharge location of the header and a central feed draper located at the discharge location and including a front guide roller just behind the cutter bar and running to a rear guide roller in front of the feeder house of the combine harvester. An auger is located between the discharge rollers with a front edge of the flight forward of the rear end of the discharge rollers to feed the material inwardly and underneath the auger to the inlet of the feeder house. A pan is located underneath the auger and is mounted on a common structure with the feed draper for common pivotal movement about a transverse horizontal axis.

Crop feed arrangement for the header of a combine harvester

A header for a combine harvester includes gauge wheels which can be converted from a normal gauge position to a transport position in which the header is wholly supported by the gauge wheels and towed longitudinally of its length. One of the gauge wheels is a single wheel which moves inwardly toward the centre of gravity in the transport position. The other of the wheels is a walking beam system in the working position and forms a transverse axle in the transport position. Each of the gauge wheels is mounted upon a bracket which can pivot about a horizontal axis from a raised spring biased gauge position to a vertically depending position allowing rotation of the wheel about a vertical axis on the bracket. The header therefore can be transported without the necessity for a separate trailer system.

Header transport system

A check-relief valve for use in a hydraulic circuit comprises a channel through a valve body which is divided by a central annular restriction into two portions. On each side of the restrictor is provided a valve seat which cooperates with a spherical ball to close off flow in a direction toward the restriction. At the outer end of each portion of the channel is provided a perforated plate which prevents the ball from restricting flow when the ball is forced against the plate. Either the ball or the restrictor is formed of a resilient deformable material which can be deformed when the pressure in the fluid exceeds a predetermined maximum in which case the ball is forced through the restriction to the opposite portion of the channel. The check valve is used in a system of a swather for moving one of the draper assemblies longitudinally of the frame of the swather and simultaneously reversing the direction of rotation of the drive to the draper. A check valve restricts the fluid flow to the drive motor for the rotation of the draper so that all of the fluid is available to move the draper and its support longitudinally of the frame until the draper reaches end stops whereupon the check valve releases by the deformation of the valve member to allow fluid to continue to flow through the drive motor to the draper rotation.
