An enterprise licensing system is provided that includes a licensing agentoperable to (a) provide a customer with a first set of enterprise licensable features and/or capacities and a second set of non-enterprise licensable features and/or capacities, with the enterprise licensable features and/or capacities, but not non-enterprise licensable features and/or capacities, being allocable freely by the customer among first and second computational components; (b) receive a first allocation of the members of the first set between the first and second computational components; and (c) generate first and second licenses reflecting the first allocation. The first license is for the first computational component and the second license is for the second computational component.

Generation of enterprise-wide licenses in a customer environment

A method and apparatus provide telecommunication terminal status information as enhanced telecommunication terminal status information by establishing communication with a telecommunication switching system controlling a telecommunication terminal by a monitor computer; directly accessing the telecommunication terminal status information from the telecommunication switching system by the monitor computer via a path distinct from that used to transmit the telecommunication terminal status information to the telecommunication terminal; converting the telecommunication terminal status information to enhanced terminal status telecommunication terminal status information by the monitor computer; and presenting the enhanced telecommunication terminal status information to a user of the telecommunication set. The telecommunication set may be a multi-paged telecommunication set. Further, the method and apparatus allow an individual to observe telecommunication terminals of an observed group by receiving enhanced telecommunication terminal status concerning the status of these telecommunication terminals.

Apparatus and method for providing enhanced telecommunication terminal status information

The present invention is directed, in one embodiment, to the simultaneous streaming of a text representation of a first voice stream from a first call to a telephone for display and transmitting of a second voice stream from a second call to the telephone for audible play to the user.

A telecommunication system comprises a computational component operating in a first licensing mode. The system includes a license managerthat identifies the occurrence of a predetermined licensing event and a mode setting agentthat notifies a user of the predetermined licensing event and determines whether or not the user acknowledges receipt of the notice within a selected time period. When the user fails to acknowledge receipt of the notice within the selected time period, the mode setting agent causes the computational component to operate in a second licensing mode, and, when the user acknowledges receipt of the notice within the selected time period, causes the computational component to operate in a third licensing mode. The first, second, and third licensing modes provide for a first, second, and third sets of operations, respectively. Each of the first and third sets of operations differ from the second set of operations.
