A device for use by an individual for sexual pleasure varying in form, i.e. shape, during its use and allowing for the user to select multiple variations of form either discretely or in combination and for these dynamic variations to be controllable simultaneously and interchangeably while being transparent to the normal use of the device, including the ability to insert, withdraw, rotate, and actuate the variable features manually or remotely. According to embodiments of the invention localized and global variations of devices are implemented using fluidics and electromagnetic pumps/valves wherein a fluid is employed such that controlling the pressure of the fluid results in the movement of an element within the device or the expansion/contraction of an element within the device.

The application of fluidic systems to a variety of consumer devices would typically exploit fluidic structures of a few millimeters to a centimeter or so that are between the common fluidic realms of microfluidics and macrofluidics. For these devices power consumption, portability, batter operation etc. are significant factors in the design and implementation of these fluidic systems. However, the necessary range of fluidic device structures for electromagnetically driven high efficiency pumps, valves, switches, capacitors etc. require development to provide both the required functionality as well as to meet the user expectations for functionality, variability, cost, etc. but also lifetime, reliability, manufacturability etc. of the consumer devices exploiting these fluidic systems.

Devices exploiting fluidic systems and actuators

A device for use by an individual varying in form, i.e. shape, during its use and allowing for the user to select multiple variations of form either discretely or in combination and for these dynamic variations to be controllable simultaneously and interchangeably while being transparent to the normal use of the device, including the ability to insert, withdraw, rotate, and actuate the variable features manually or remotely. According to embodiments of the invention localized and global variations of devices are implemented using fluidics and electromagnetic pumps/valves wherein a fluid is employed such that controlling the pressure of the fluid results in the movement of an element within the device or the expansion/contraction of an element within the device.

Methods and devices for fluid driven adult devices

Sexual stimulation devices including: (a) an inside arm configured to be placed within a vagina of a female; (b) an outside arm configured to be placed against a clitoral area of said female; and (c) a middle portion connecting said inside arm and said outside arm. Wherein the device is dimensioned to be worn with the inside arm inserted into the vagina of said female during intercourse, and wherein said inside arm includes an open center portion.

Sexual stimulation device

Vibration based stimulation or pressure based stimulation are commonly employed in a wide range of devices for medical, therapeutic, and recreational activities. These are designed to be applied against a predetermined region of a user's body. However, there are many instances where it would beneficial to provide the user with a 'wearable' device where these one or more predetermined regions of the user's body may be inserted through or disposed within the device providing vibratory and/or pressure based stimulation. Further, such devices may be augmented with other therapeutic means such as light therapy or ultrasonic therapy. Accordingly, a range of wearable devices exploiting hollow shaft motors, electromagnetic actuators, and fluidics are presented.

Devices exploiting hollow motors

The absence of high efficiency, compact fluidic pumps has until recently blocked the consideration of using hydraulic devices within portable and/or alkaline battery powered consumer and non-consumer products. The higher the functionality and programmability desired for a consumer and/or non-consumer product exploiting a fluidic pump then the more complex the overall fluidic system in terms of the number of actuators, valves, switches etc. within the fluidic system coupled to the one or more fluidic pumps. Accordingly, there exists a requirement to provide compact fluidic valves and switches to support configurability, programmability, and operation of these portable battery-operated consumer and non-consumer devices in conjunction with these newly available high efficiency, compact fluidic pumps. Such fluidic valves and switches should offer high efficiency, have a small footprint, be low complexity for high reliability and ease of manufacture, and low cost.

Electromagnetically actuated fluidic valves and switches

Fluidics offers a means of distributing power to activate elements remote from the power source as the pressure/fluid flow may be used directly to generate an action and/or motion without requiring an additional transducer, e.g. a motor to convert electric power to mechanical power. Prior art pumps, valves, and switches are bulky devices with high power consumption limiting their use in many portable battery-operated consumer and non-consumer devices. Accordingly, it would be desirable to provide designers of such products with hydraulic valves and switches to support and provide configurability, programmability, and operation of these devices in conjunction with compact high efficiency pumps to provide devices meeting the market requirements for low footprint, complexity, low power, and low cost.

Methods and devices relating to hydraulic valves and switches

A sexual stimulation device comprising: (a) an elongate member comprising a proximal end, and a distal end dimensioned for placement in an orifice of a user; (b) an external stimulation arm comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and an external stimulation surface; and (c) a flexible connecting portion that connects the elongate member to the external stimulation arm at their respective proximal ends; wherein the flexible connecting portion permits movement of the external stimulation arm relative to the elongate member between an open position and a compressed position.

Combination internal and external sexual stimulation device

Many devices with 'limbs' or 'arms' are susceptible to damage when a user bends or twists a joint of the limb or arm beyond its design point or in a direction other than intended. This is common with children's toys. Accordingly, it would be beneficial to provide children with toys employing fluidic actuators that can be bent, twisted, deformed and yet recover subsequently allowing the intended motion to be performed. Further, it would be beneficial by providing devices that employ fluidic actuators, and hence are essentially non-mechanical, to provide users not only of toys but other devices with driving mechanisms that are not susceptible to wear-out such as, by stripping drive gears, etc., thereby increasing their reliability and reducing noise. Fluidic devices allow for high efficiency, high power to size ratio, low cost, limited or single moving part(s) and allow for mechanical springless designs as well as functional reduction by providing a piston which is both pump and vibrator.

Methods and devices to hydraulic consumer devices

The majority of adult devices have been designed for an individual to hold. However, it would be beneficial to provide users with a range of adult devices that support their use either in a hands free manner and/or are compatible with being worn by the user for varying periods of time from intermittent/occasional short durations through to extended wearing such as all day for example. In order to provide such wearable devices being able to separate the drive means from the stimulation means provides increased design flexibility as well as allowing different designs of adult device to be implemented as the design flexibility within the appropriate regions of the user's anatomy increases when the large vibratory motors are removed and connected to the stimulation means via flexible drive shaft. Further, beneficially, flexible drive shafts allow operation as the user moves during normal activities, such as sitting, standing, walking, etc.

Remote drive and wearable adult devices

A device for use by a female for sexual stimulation comprising an inner arm dimensioned for insertion into a vagina, to contact the wall of the vagina at or near the G-spot, an outer arm dimensioned to contact the clitoris, and a resilient U-shaped member connecting the inner and outer arms.
