A device and method for processing Virtual Reality (VR) data is disclosed. The method comprises transmitting feedback information from the device to a server, wherein the feedback information is captured in the device, receiving data from the server to be presented on the device based on the feedback information, wherein the data includes video data and audio data where the video data is a frame of video data in a sequence of frames and the audio data is the corresponding audio data of the frame, decoding the video data and corresponding audio data of the frame, and controlling the presentation of the video data and corresponding audio data on the device such that the video data is synchronized with the corresponding audio data.

A projector includes an infrared generator, an infrared camera, an infrared control module, and a controller. The infrared generator provides an infrared curtain on a screen that the projector projects an image. The infrared camera detects a selection of an icon on a control strip located within the infrared curtain. The infrared control module is in communication with the infrared generator and the infrared camera, and determines a coordinate position within the infrared curtain associated with the selection of the icon on the control strip. The controller is in communication with the infrared control module, and determines a command for the projector based on the coordinate position of the selection of the icon, and executes the command.

Virtual Reality (VR) systems, apparatuses and methods of processing data are provided which include predicting, at a server, a user viewpoint of a next frame of video data based on received user feedback information sensed at a client, rendering a portion of the next frame using the prediction, encoding the portion, formatting the encoded portion into packets and transmitting the video data. At a client, the encoded and packetized A/V data is received and depacketized. The portion of video data and corresponding audio data is decoded and controlled to be displayed and aurally provided in synchronization. Latency may be minimized by utilizing handshaking between hardware components and/or software components such as a 3D server engine, one or more client processors, one or more client processors, a video encoder, a server NIC, a video decoder, a client NIC; and a 3D client engine.

First and second antenna disposed in an information handling system selectively support communication through a wireless frequency using beamforming. The first or second antenna is selected for initiating communication based upon alignment with a beamforming axis for establishing beamforming with a distal wireless device. For example, the first antenna is selected if the information handling system articulates to a tablet configuration and the second antenna is selected if the information handling system articulates to a clamshell open configuration.

A system employs adaptive data rate reduction of rendered pixel data for wireless transmission between a source device and a display device. The source device determines the display properties of the display device and the current available bandwidth of a wireless channel connecting the source device to the display device. The source device adjusts a data rate reduction process that is applied to the rendered pixel data before the resulting pixel data is wirelessly transmitted based on these parameters. In response to a change in the data rate reduction process, the source device further can transmit to the display device an indicator that identifies the current data rate reduction type and effective compression ratio being applied by the source device. The display device can use this indicator to configure the processing of the rendered pixel data at the display device so as to mirror or otherwise comply with the particular data rate reduction process applied by the source device.
