In some embodiments, a nonwoven fabric includes a first web that is at least partially formed of extruded strands which include an auto-adhesive material. The nonwoven fabric is adapted to be bonded to another item that includes a similar auto-adhesive material. In other embodiments, a method of forming a nonwoven fabric includes extruding a plurality of strands that are formed of an auto-adhesive material. The method further includes routing the plurality of strands toward a moving support, depositing the plurality of strands onto the moving support, and then stabilizing the plurality of strands to form a web. In other embodiments, a fastening system includes a nonwoven fabric that has a web which is formed of a plurality of extruded strands that include an auto-adhesive material. The fastening system further includes a foam layer that has a surface with a plurality of free-standing struts that include a similar auto-adhesive material.

The present invention relates to a fibrous matrix of synthetic detergents. The fibrous matrix includes fibers formed of a synthetic wax and a primary surfactant embedded in the fibers. The fibrous matrix further includes a secondary surfactant embedded in the fibers.

The present invention relates to a pet bed that includes a heating layer which is formed of an enclosure and a heating composition sealed inside the enclosure. The enclosure includes a gas-permeable section such that the heating composition generates heat when a gas is received through the gas-permeable section. The pet bed further includes (i) a liner attached to the heating layer to engage a pet as the pet lies on the pet bed; (ii) a conforming layer attached to the heating layer such that the conforming layer conforms to the shape of the pet as the pet lies on the pet bed; and/or (iii) a backing layer attached to the heating layer such that the backing layer restricts movement of the pet bed. The enclosure may further include a cover over the gas-permeable section such that the heating composition generates heat when the cover is removed from the enclosure.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for applying a liquid coating onto an object. The apparatus includes a device that has a handle and a transfer medium which is attached to the handle. The apparatus further includes a cover that is attached to the device. The cover includes a closure element that is operable to open and close an end of the cover. When the end of the cover is open, the cover is movable between a first position where the cover protects the transfer medium and a second position where the cover protects the handle. In another example embodiment, the cover is formed of a removable first layer that is positioned adjacent to the transfer medium when the cover is in the first position and a removable second layer that is positioned adjacent to the handle when the cover is in the second position.

Disclosed is an improved fastening tape for use on a disposable absorbent garment. The fastening tape comprises a first substrate and an interlocking material attached to said first substrate. The interlocking material extends the entire width of the fastening tape, and the interlocking material is longitudinally spaced from both transverse edges of the fastening tape. Also disclosed is a process for manufacturing the fastening tape. The process involves providing a continuous length of an interlocking material having a width and traveling in a first direction. The interlocking material is attached to a first substrate to form a composite. The composite is then cut along a second direction to form fastening tapes suitable for attachment on a disposable absorbent garment. The second direction is substantially perpendicular to the first direction.

Mechanical fastening tapes and method for their construction

Disclosed is an improved process for attaching and protecting a mechanical fastener on a disposable absorbent article and a disposable absorbent article produced by the same. The process comprises the following steps: (1) providing a disposable absorbent article which includes an outer cover, a bodyside liner, and an absorbent core disposed between the outer cover and the bodyside liner; (2) providing a mechanical fastener which includes a first fastening element; (3) attaching the first fastening element of the mechanical fastener to the disposable absorbent article; (4) releasably engaging the first fastening element with the disposable absorbent article to protect the first fastening element; and (5) subsequently packaging the disposable absorbent article for commercial sale. The first fastening element and a portion of the disposable absorbent article may be releasably engaged by constrictively passing them between a pair of rotatable nip rolls. In a particular aspect, the first fastening element is the hook material of a hook-and-loop type mechanical fastener.

The system includes a plurality of hook members attached on one portion of the article, and a plurality of loop members attached to a loop panel wherein the loop panel may be intermittently attached to the article.

Process of providing mechanical fasteners on disposable absorbent

An absorbent article includes an absorbent core positioned between a bodyside liner and an outer cover. Containment flaps are inwardly folded to form containment reservoirs which inhibit exudates from leaking through or out of the absorbent article. The containment flaps include flap elastics which form surface contact with the user's body. The containment flaps are generally spaced outwardly from the absorbent core to increase the capacity of the reservoirs. In one embodiment, the unfolded containment flaps have a width greater than the crotch side width from the absorbent core to an outer edge of the absorbent article. This arrangement also allows the absorbent article to contain a sudden increase in exudates.
