Apparatus and method for measuring electrical activity of heart

A smooth surfaced, inelastic, flexible, belt-like strip for recording electrocardiograms having a series of six separate precordial electrodes, three fixed and three being independently movable leads with electrodes and movable within a fixed range insuring proper placement on the patient's chest or precordium during usage, the S-shape of the belt-like strip enables it to cover the proper recording areas. The fixed, electrodes, which are raised and compressible, maintain contact with patients' chests despite variations in chest size among patients. The apparatus is attached around the chest with an adjustable elastic strap providing a constant and evenly distributed downward force holding it and the precordial contacts, which are between the strip and patient's chest, in place. Internal lead wires attach at the sides of the precordial belt-like strip with electrodes placed on each arm via external lead wires. The internal lead wires from the precordial electrodes and from the left and right arm electrodes are inside or on the outside surface of the belt-like strip and emerge therefrom at one place to form a main cable which connects to an electrocardiograph machine. Two additional wire leads from electrodes on each leg enter the main cable to transmit signals from each lower limb electrode to the electrocardiograph machine. This device is reusable for many patients, easily cleaned and designed for use with a variety of body habitus.

A solid dosage unit dispenser closure cap suitable for use by sight-impaired persons and/or persons with physical incapability to unscrew caps of prescription bottles or containers having a lid integrally attached an annular skirt by a living hinge, wherein the lid has a tab to enable the patient to open the cap easily without twisting. In addition the container for the medicine has a ring attached thereto and to the inner surface of the skirt at the inside near the opening thereof. The ring has an opening sufficiently large to allow only one or perhaps two dosage units to be spilled out by the patient at one time, in addition the ring has a slide attached thereto which can be moved by the patient circumferentially on the ring to stop at indicia on the top of the ring which reminds the patient which dose was last taken or which dose is yet to be taken. A window on the top leg of the slide permits viewing or feeling the indicia. The cap can also have dosage regimen indicia on the top outer surface of its lid and/or on and annular skirt displaying the number of medication units to take at each administration, e.g., braille, removable tabs, numbers and the like, and being adapted to be attached to the medicine container. Finally, the cap can be color coded to identify the dosage frequency.

A bicycle seat of the saddle type without a nose has a foam cushion supported on a seat shell and the foam cushion has depressions on the top surface thereof which support the ischial tuberosities and aid in promoting comfort of the cyclist. Springs at the front underside of the seat are attached to struts which are pivotally attached to the rear underside of the seat shell and act as a fulcrum when the weight of the cyclist depresses the springs. The top of the seat is roughened to prevent the cyclist from slipping off.
