An aircraft system includes, among other things, an aircraft and a gas turbine engine coupled to the aircraft. The gas turbine engine includes a propulsor section including a propulsor, a compressor section, a turbine section including a first turbine and a second turbine, and a gear reduction between the propulsor and the second turbine. The second turbine includes a number of turbine blades in each of a plurality of rows of the second turbine. The second turbine blades operating at least some of the time at a rotational speed. The number of blades and the rotational speed being such that the following formula holds true for at least one of the blade rows of the second turbine: 5500 Hz≤(number of blades×speed)/60 sec≤10000 Hz. The gas turbine engine is rated to produce 15,000 pounds of thrust or more. A method of operating an aircraft system is also disclosed.

The gas turbine engine is rated to produce 15,000 pounds of thrust or more.

A fan section for a gas turbine engine according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a fan rotor having fan blades, and a plurality of fan exit guide vanes positioned downstream of the fan rotor. The fan rotor is configured to be driven through a gear reduction. A ratio of a number of fan exit guide vanes to a number of fan blades is defined. The fan exit guide vanes are provided with optimized sweep and optimized lean.

An acoustic liner for a gas turbine engine includes an acoustic panel that is curved about a central axis. The acoustic panel includes a support backing, a face sheet, and a cellular structure disposed between the support backing and the face sheet. The face sheet has elongated slots that extend along respective slot centerlines in the plane of the face sheet. The slot centerlines are sloped at oblique angles to the central axis.

In accordance with one aspect of the disclosure, a gas turbine engine, method of using and designing such is disclosed. The gas turbine engine may comprise a fan including a plurality of blades, and a variable area fan nozzle. The fan may be configured to have a design point fan tip leading edge relative flow angle &#x3b2;, and may be further configured to have an off-design point fan tip leading edge relative flow angle &#x3b2; at an off-design fan operating point. The variable area fan nozzle may be configured to manipulate the amount of air flowing through the fan so that the absolute value of a difference between the design point fan tip leading edge relative flow angle &#x3b2;and the off-design point fan tip leading edge relative flow angle &#x3b2; is in a specified range.
