A misalignment ball joint fitting includes first and second body portion coupled together and having spherical inner surfaces. A ball secured inside the body portions has a passage therein. The passage has a funnel shaped portion in a first end portion of the ball. The ball is allowed to at least partially rotate when secured inside the first and second body portions. A guide sleeve is coupled to the first body portion. The guide sleeve is coaxial with the ball passage. A recess is in an inner surface of the ball near a center of the ball. An end of the guide sleeve extends into at least a portion of the recess when the ball is in a neutral position with walls of the passage in the ball parallel to walls of the guide sleeve.

Misaligned pipe connector

A body includes two separate openings on a first side of the body that correspond to separate passages that converge to a common passage. An opening on a second side of the body couples to the common passage. A bore in the body is concentric with the common passage. A diverter has at least a part of the diverter in both the bore and the common passage. A tubular portion of the diverter has an open end in fluid communication with the common passage. One or more seals are positioned circumferentially around the part of the diverter located in the bore. The diverter is selectively rotated with the drive mechanism during use to align a diverter wall opening with a selected separate passage such that an object moving from the common passage through the tubular portion of the diverter is directed into the selected separate passage during use.

Simple reverse flow wye connector

A fitting includes a body having at least two portions coupled together to form a body having a passage through the body. The passage allows at least a portion of a conduit to be located at least substantially lengthwise within the body. First and second ports are located on the body and are in fluid communication with the passage. A first seal is located on the passage wall between a first end of the body and the first port. A second seal is located on the passage wall between the first port and the second port. A translatable ring is located on the passage wall between the first and second seals. The ring moves along the passage wall when the first seal is activated so that the second seal is activated. The ring includes an opening proximate the first port to provide access to the conduit from the first port. The first and second seals provide a seal in the passage.

Equalizer stopple fitting with integral pressure equalization fitting

A device includes a stem hub attached to a fitting body. A rotatable stem is located at least partially within the stem hub. Rotation of the rotatable stem operates a blocking element located in the fitting body. In an embodiment, an upper stem is coupled to a first end portion of the rotatable stem so that rotation of the upper stem rotates the rotatable stem. A metal seal is located on the stem hub. A portion of the upper stem presses the metal seal between the upper stem and the stem hub when the upper stem is moved towards the stem hub. An operating mechanism moves the upper stem towards the stem hub and away from the stem hub. The upper stem is moved by the operating mechanism in a direction normal to the rotational axis of the rotatable stem and the upper stem.

Metal sealing, stem locking mechanism

A piggable pipeline system is disclosed. One or more pig launcher/receivers may be coupled to a pipeline. At least one fitting may be coupled to the pipeline. The fitting may include a body and at least two passages through the body. The passages are in fluid communication within the body. A diverter is located in at least one of the passages. The diverter is movable between an open position and a closed position. In the open position, the diverter allows open flow between two of the passages. In the closed position, the diverter inhibits flow between the two passages. The pipeline may allow a pig to be launched from at least one of the pig launcher/receivers and returned through the pipeline to at least one of the pig launcher/receivers.

Pipeline systems using a reverse flow wye connector

A subsea fitting is disclosed. The subsea fitting includes a body. The fitting includes at least two passages through the body. The passages are in fluid communication within the body. A diverter is located in at least one of the passages. The diverter may be movable between an open position and a closed position. In the open position, the diverter allows open flow between two of the passages. In the closed position, the diverter inhibits flow between the two passages.

An articulating connector system including an active connector coupled to a first line and a hub assembly coupled to a second line. The active connector includes a swivel coupling element intermediate a grip and a ball nose to allow rotational and articulating motion. A seal is coupled to the ball nose and is protected and guided by an alignment lip into mating engagement with a sealing surface defined by the hub. A clamp closes about the swivel coupling element and hub to draw together the seal and sealing surface into sealing contact to connect the first line to the second line.

Remote connector including support structure

A tapping connector for a pipeline, vessel or the like wherein the connector has a membrane disposed therein. The membrane may be curved or arcuate and may be configured to offer a partially cylindrical profile that resembles the wall of a pipe. The tapping connector may be used to provide future connection points for branch lines to the pipeline, vessel or other containment structure. The membrane so configured may be removed by conventional pipe tapping equipment.

Remote articulated connector

There is disclosed a clamp useful for connecting a tie-in line transversely to a carrier pipe, comprising: a lower body portion and a upper body portion that when connected together define a tubular bore, the lower and upper body portions being adapted to clamp onto the carrier pipe; a set of gripping collets positioned with the tubular sleeve bore proximate opposed ends of the upper and the lower body portions to engage such a carrier pipe; a branch tap positioned between the gripping collets and extending from one of the body portions transversely to the tubular bore; a first seal and a second seal for providing a seal between the carrier pipe and the upper and the lower body portions, the first and second seal positioned within the transverse bore and between the gripping collets and the branch tap; and a set of axial seals to form axially extending seals between the upper and lower body portions during use and to connect the first and second seals during use. The connector is particularly useful to attach branch pipes to oil or gas carrier pipes submersed undersea.

An apparatus for tensioning a stud and a method for doing same, with the apparatus including a body adapted to be removably mounted with the stud, the body including a first body member and second body member movable with respect thereto, with the second body member having a gripper assembly therewith for gripping the stud as desired, and moving means with the body for moving the second body member with respect to the first body member from a contracted position wherein the gripper assembly engages the stud and in expanded position wherein the gripper assembly tensions the stud.
