A water and moisture sealed, self contained, compact, long term, ambulatory physio-kinetic monitor is designed for mounting directly to the skin of an athlete or fitness performer, preferably immediately adjacent to the organ or system that is to be monitored, and is adhesively held there in place, covertly and comfortably, under clothing by disposable electrode, adhesive skin pads. At least three positive electrodes and a common negative electrode extend from the monitor and attach by similar disposable adhesive electrode pads to detect physiological, e.g. ECG data. Accelerometer means disposed within the monitor detects body movement and likewise stores that data on a third ECG data channel.

Ambulatory physio-kinetic monitor with envelope enclosure

A self contained, compact, long term, ambulatory physiological recorder is designed for mounting directly to the body of a patient, immediately adjacent to the organ or system that is to be monitored, and is adhesively and covertly held there in place and comfortably under clothing by the very transducer, skin electrodes that detect the physiological information to be recorded, and thereby increasing continuity and decreasing artifact by obviating the need for numerous and cumbersome, hanging electrode leads as well as unsightly and cumbersome recorder pouches suspended from shoulder straps or belts.

Long-term, ambulatory physiological recorder

The invention discloses a method and an apparatus for creating an elementary optical disc master with but a single layer to be applied to a disc substrate to form pits having ideal shapes and without berm buildup. These ideally shaped pits are improvements in the technology of disc mastering, due to the manufacturing and data playback advantages that are inherent in the ideally shaped pits. An optically active lamina consisting of a dye polymer solution of nitrocellulose and a increased dye additive is spin coated directly to a pregrooved polycarbonate substrate to enable the recording of data on the disc by laser means in the form of pits. The pits are created by having a data modulated laser focusing on the optically active lamina which reacts to the irradiation causing a pit to be formed. The resulting pit more often than not possesses a residual raised berm area surrounding the pit, in what is considered to be a less than ideal shape for a pit. The residual berm, however, is eliminated by an additional process and step of passing the recently recorded disc under a UV illumination source before application of a final conductive layer to the disc.

Optical disk mastering system

The invention discloses a method and an apparatus for creating an optical disc master by forming pits having ideal shapes and without berm buildup. These ideally shaped pits are improvements in the technology of disc mastering, due to the manufacturing and data playback advantages that are inherent in the ideally shaped pits. A disc substrate has a very thin partially reflective layer applied to the surface of the optical disc upon which data will be recorded. The substance used to make the partially reflective layer is normally considered opaque in more commonly occurring thicknesses. However, the partially reflective layer, is created to be so extremely thin that it becomes partially optically transparent. The partially reflective layer then has spin coated, thereon, an optically active lamina to enable the recording of data on the disc by laser means in the form of pits. The pits are created by having a laser light focusing on both the partially reflective layer and the optically active lamina, both which react to the irradiation causing a pit to be formed. The resulting pit more often than not possesses a residual raised berm area surrounding the pit, in what is considered to be a less than ideal shape for a pit. The residual berm, however, is eliminated as disclosed in this application by an additional process and step of passing the recently recorded disc under a UV illumination source before application of any additional layer to the disc. An OD Master can be created by finally depositing a conductive and reflective lamina over the pitted active lamina. The invention is also useful in providing increased laser tracking. Here, the partially reflective layer provides increased signal to noise ratio, enhancing laser tracking in both the recording and playback modes.

Optical recording medium and method for eliminating berm buildup

A mobile audio visual presentation system contained within a telescoping tower platform that provides height adjustment means for video display devices. The telescoping tower provides stability, transportability, versatility and optimum sound/video projection angles for multimedia audio visual presentations. The system remotely programs and controls a plurality of multimedia projection devices by interfacing ambulatory hand-held controllers, via radio frequency, to select and control multimedia elements within the system. The radio frequency signals containing desired commands are transmitted and automatically switched to multimedia devices sensitive to either infrared signals or X.10 power line carrier signal (PLC). The remote controls interface the multimedia devices in real time and provide the ability to access chosen segments of recorded video, sound and data, thereby, providing multiple operators with the freedom to interact with an audience during a multimedia presentation and vary time and sequence of events without encountering signal dropout.

Method and apparatus for multimedia presentations

A method and apparatus for an ambulatory electrocardiographic monitoring system for recording, detection, measurement, analysis and plotting of high resolution electrocardiographic data having a modified Holter recorder that performs digital signal averaging of selected signals as well as storing for future playback all ECG beats. The digitally signal averaged beats are correlated with a previously defined correlation coefficient yielding summated results that have eliminated nonrepetitive noise to less than a microvolt. By real time averaging approximately 1000 beats during a 10 to 15 minute period and digitally storing the averaged data, micropotential averaging can be performed several times per hour for up to 24-hours. Analog recordings are precalibrated for accurate amplitude representation as well as providing an option for standard one millivolt calibration pulses at the beginning of the tape. Digital recordings are precalibrated relative to the acceptable levels without the use of a calibration signal. The recordings are downloaded to analysis systems at high speeds. If the recordings are analog they are digitized at a sufficiently high enough resolution to permit analysis of micropotentials. All recorded data is transferred to computer memory and hard disk for further review by the analysis system.

Method and apparatus for holter recorder with high resolution signal

The invention discloses a simplified four step process for making an optical disc master or alternatively a WORM disc by first making or obtaining a transparent polymer disc with a tracking groove of desired geometry molded therein, then spin coating an optically active lamina on the grooved side of the disc, then recording data on said polymer disc with groove controlled and tracked laser means by ablating active lamina, forming pits, the shape of which is determined by the groove geometry and finally depositing a conductive and reflective lamina over the pitted active lamina. To change the OD master to an OD WORM, a protective cover is added to the electrically conductive and optically reflective lamina.

Process for manufacturing an optical disc master

The specification discloses a self propelled stress testing apparatus for providing graded levels of exercise and for measuring human energy output. An adjustable frictional load calibrated in terms of patient weight and operatively coupled to a pair of translational platforms provides the exercising drag force to a flywheel against which the effort of the user is applied. Reciprocal exercising motion applied to the translational platforms is converted into rotary motion via a pair of unidirectional sprockets. Alternative embodiments employing bifilar and elastically centered slideable guide platform configurations are disclosed as well as special adaptions for use in a weightless space environment.
