A method of continuously manufacturing a cured membrane includes continuously compounding and mixing a vulcanizable rubber composition in a mixing extruder while continuously removing gasses from the vulcanizable rubber composition during mixing with a vacuum. The vulcanizable rubber composition may be continuously extruded to form an extrudate, which may be continuously calendered to form a green membrane. The green membrane may be continuously cured, such as by a hot air conveyor curing system, to form a cured membrane.

System and method for continuously manufacturing cured membranes

A method and apparatus for preparing a bundle of sheet material for transport. The automated apparatus includes a cutting assembly for cutting slats, or spacers, from scrap sheet material, a pick and place assembly for positioning and securing the slats to the underside of a bundle, and a stacking assembly for stacking bundles prior to removal for shipping or storage. The slats, once cut, are automatically placed in guide channels and then positioned beneath the bundle while glue is applied thereto. The glued edges are then automatically pressed against the bundle to secure the slats to the bundle, thereby creating space beneath the bundle to allow a forklift to manipulate the bundles.

Method and apparatus for automated stacking of sheet material bundles

A method of transporting insulation panels to a location, the method comprising providing a plurality of insulation panels; placing a predetermined number of said insulation panels into stacks, said stacks including a top surface, lateral sides and a bottom surface; covering said stack with a heat shrinkable material, wherein said heat shrinkable material covers said top surface and said lateral sides, at least a portion of said material extending below the intersection between said bottom surface and said lateral sides; heating said heat shrinkable material, thereby shrinking said heat shrinkable material substantially flush against said lateral sides; loading a plurality of stacks on a vehicle; and moving said vehicle with said plurality of stocks to the location.
