A coffee brewing system includes a brew vessel adapted to receive water and ground coffee to produce and store a brewed beverage and to provide for a cleaning system. The brew vessel includes a filter and a magnet stirrer in the lower portion of the brew vessel. The magnet stirrer creates a water vortex for brewing the coffee. The used coffee grounds are allowed to settle on the filter creating a bed of used coffee grounds and the coffee is then filtered through both the bed of used coffee grounds and the filter and collected in a coffee storage container. A cleaning system is used to remove unsightly coffee stains and oil films in the system after a brewing cycle.

A coffee brewing system includes a brew vessel adapted to receive water and ground coffee to produce and store a brewed beverage. The improved water purification system includes a water purification unit having a tap water inflow port for receiving a tap water inflow from a water supply system to produce relatively purified water and a brine water outflow having impurities concentrated therein. An RO filter having an RO membrane separates relatively unfiltered water flow into purified water and the brine water outflow. A flush flow activation chamber fluidly coupled to the brine water outflow includes a plunger for substantially occluding brine water outflow through the brine outflow port when seated, and substantially permits brine water outflow to exit the purification unit through the brine outflow port when unseated. Accordingly, the activation chamber generates back pressure within the water purification system to flash flow tap water inflow into the purification unit and through the RO membrane when the plunger moves from being seated to unseated, thereby substantially refreshing said RO membrane.

A top fill water reservoir system that allows the reservoirs to be filled without waiting for a reverse osmosis (RO) filter to produce enough water to fill the system and avoids the need for a service worker to remove the system from the cabinet, or wait for RO filtration, to fill the reservoirs. The top fill water reservoir system comprises a drinking reservoir adapted to store and dispense drinking water. A supply reservoir in fluid communication with the drinking reservoir and adapted to feed water into the drinking reservoir and receive water from a reverse osmosis (RO) filter. An overflow tube adapted to connect an upper portion of the drinking reservoir to the supply reservoir and feed overflow water from the drinking reservoir to the supply reservoir.

The brewing system disclosed herein includes a moving inlet nozzle for use in intermixing hot water and coffee in a coffee cartridge. The inlet nozzle may include one or more flow ports that inject hot water into an inner chamber of the coffee cartridge at select angles, locations and pressures to create the desired fluidized mixture of hot water and beverage medium.

Methods and apparatuses for brewing beverages. A brewing system in accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure comprises a fluid conduit system, an air conduit system, a valve, and a pump. The valve is coupled to the fluid conduit system and the air conduit system. The pump is coupled to the valve. The valve selectively accesses the fluid conduit system and the air conduit system such that the pump selectively pumps fluid and selectively pumps air.

Beverage brewing systems and methods for using the same

A drainless reverse osmosis (RO) water purification system provides relatively pure water for on-demand dispensing, while recycling brine to a domestic hot water system. The drainless purification system includes a pre-filter catalyst cartridge for removing chlorine-based contaminants from a tap water supply upstream from an RO membrane. The catalyst is regularly refreshed by a high through-flow of water to a conventional cold water dispense faucet, thereby significantly prolonging the service life of the RO membrane. The RO membrane is incorporated into a multi-cartridge unit adapted for facilitated slide-out removal and replacement as needed. A control valve recycles brine from the RO membrane to the hot water system during pure water production, and recirculates tap water through the RO membrane when a pure water reservoir is substantially filled. The multi-cartridge unit may further include an air filtration system for providing a flow of filtered air.

Drainless reverse osmosis water purification system

The method for regulating pressure in a beverage brewer as disclosed herein includes initiating a brew cycle, which initiates a feedback loop. A temperature sensor monitors the water temperature in a heater tank, and one or more heating elements activate to heat the water to the appropriate temperature if necessary. An ammeter monitors the amperage of an electric current drawn by a pump. If the amperage is above a current ceiling, a voltage regulator reduces the voltage of electric current supplied to the pump, thereby reducing the pressure in the brew cartridge. The voltage regulator increases the voltage of electric current supplied to the pump to increase pressure in brew cartridge if the amperage of the electric current is below a current floor. Once the voltage regulator adjusts the voltage, the ammeter monitors the amperage of the pump.
