A system has a drive mechanism affixed to an auger to selectively impart rotational forces to the auger for movement of pellet fuel for a cooking grill, and a lever arm affixed in a pivoting relationship to the drive mechanism and to a fixed location separate from the drive mechanism such that manipulation of the lever arm results in longitudinal movement of the auger.

A lower housing has a fuel grate situated at a predetermined level within the lower housing for supporting a fuel source. The lower housing has a first wall defining a plurality of air intake openings proximate the level of the fuel grate.

High efficiency wind resistant kettle grill

An enclosure for use in a cooking grill. The enclosure has a lower portion defining an opening that receives combustion gases from a combustion source via a bottom opening, and an upper portion interposing the lower portion and the cooking grate and having a floor with an opening that receives the lower portion and combustion gases therefrom and directs them to the cooking grate. A needle hub () for a pen needle is provided with an enlarged surface for contact with the skin of a patient. The enlarged surface is provided with a surface having a dimension and shape to enable a needle or cannula to penetrate the skin to a desired depth and permit substantially the entire exposed length of the needle or cannula to penetrate the skin to the desired depth. The surface of the needle hub can be formed by an inner cone shaped member () forming a first contact surface with a surface area of about 1-5 mmand an outer ring () at a peripheral edge forming a second contact surface with a combined surface area of about 15 to 50 mm.

Pen needle hub injection depth optimization

A medical device () includes an insulin pen (), a pen needle () and a force sensor (). The device also includes a microprocessor () to receive a signal from the force sensor (). Audible and/or visual indicators () provide feedback to a user to encourage proper injection technique. The device may also include an adaptor assembly comprising a sensor housing () and a first sensor () within the sensor housing, and a transfer needle assembly (), the transfer needle assembly providing a connection () for a pen needle, and providing a fluid conduit between the pen needle () and the insulin pen (). A second force sensor () is associated with a thumb button of the insulin pen ().

System and method for detecting applied force during injection

A needle-bearing hub for a pen needle is provided with a distal patient-facing side having an enlarged surface for contact with the subject's skin. The enlarged surface is provided with a radius of curvature that increases the likelihood that the needle reaches full injection depth when an injection is performed at an inclined angle with respect to the surface of the skin and with to the desired depth less discomfort to the patient.

A primable catheter including a thermoreactive, viscoelastic material that is internally supported with a trocar wire. The primable catheter further includes a multi-chamfered tip and a gap interposed between an inner surface of the catheter and the outer surface of the trocar, such that a priming fluid is permitted to flow through the catheter and purge air trapped between the trocar and the inner surface of the catheter. Following insertion of the catheter, the trocar is removed and a therapeutic is infused via the catheter.
