A connector fastener extension system includes a cabling system having a cable. A cable connector is included on the cable. A connector fastener extension system is integrated on the cable connector. A fastener base on the connector fastener extension system includes the cable connector and is configured to rotate relative to the cable. A fastener extension member on the connector fastener extension system is moveably coupled to the fastener base and is configured to move away from the cable connector and towards the cable. Rotation of the fastener extension member is configured to cause rotation of the fastener base and the cable connector relative to the cable.

A vibration-based location indication system includes a computing system that is coupled to a management system via a network. The computing system includes a computing system vibration device, and a computing system location indication subsystem that is coupled to the network and the computing system vibration device. The computing system location indication subsystem receives a computing system location indication instruction to indicate a location of the computing system from the management system via the network and, based on the computing system location indication instruction, drives the computing system vibration device to produce a vibration that is configured to indicate the location of the computing system.

A computing system locating system includes a computing system having a computing system light emitting device that is configured to emit light to provide a computing system locating signal, and a vibration-based location indication system. The vibration-based location indication system includes a light detection subsystem that is configured to detect the computing system locating signal via the light emitted from the computing system light emitting device on the computing system, and a vibration subsystem that is configured to vibrate. A location indication subsystem in the vibration-based location indication system that is coupled to the light detection subsystem and the vibration subsystem determines that the light detection subsystem has detected the computing system locating signal via the light emitted from the computing system light emitting device on the computing system and, in response, drives the vibration subsystem to produce a vibration to indicate the location of the computing system.

A connector fastener extension system includes a connector fastener extension system having a fastener base and a fastener extension member. The fastener base defines a cable connector housing and a cable connector aperture adjacent the cable connector housing, with the fastener base configured to connect to a cable connector located on an end of a cable by positioning the cable connector in the cable connector housing such that at least a portion of the cable connector extends through the cable connector aperture. The fastener extension member is moveably coupled to the fastener base and configured to move away from the fastener base and towards the cable when the cable connector is connected to the fastener base, with rotation of the fastener extension member configured to cause rotation of the fastener base and the cable connector relative to the cable when the cable connector is connected to the fastener base.

Traditionally, rail systems for racks that house electronic equipment, such as information handling system only allow motion from one side of the rack, if they allow movement at all. Embodiments presented herein provide mechanisms and methods that allow for motion of information handling systems in a housing from more than just one side of the housing.

A universal bracket for mechanically coupling an information handling resource to a chassis of an information handling system may include a first mechanical member having a pair of guide features located on opposite edges of the first mechanical member and a second mechanical member having corresponding guide features configured to mechanically couple to the pair of guide features in order to enable the second mechanical member to slide relative to the first mechanical member in a linear direction such that a height of the universal bracket is configurable to match a height of the information handling resource.

Systems and methods for hierarchical link aggregation are disclosed. A system for hierarchical link aggregation may include a network interface having a plurality of physical ports. A first plurality of the physical ports may be configured as member ports of a first link aggregation group (LAG). A second plurality of the physical ports may be configured as member ports of a second LAG. The first LAG and second LAG may be configured as member logical ports of a third LAG.

Information handling system network addresses are managed based on the location of the information handling system. For example, a blade information handling system chassis has network addresses stored in persistent memory and associated with each of plural slots. A blade information handling system inserted in a slot receives network addresses associated with the slot from a chassis management controller. The network switch can include a plurality of physical ports configured to communicate data via a network. The aggregate zone entries can also include a port identifier of first port of the plurality of physical ports to be used as a transparent port within a first aggregate zone.

System and method of enabling a transparent Ethernet switch

A system and method is disclosed for configuring a network device. The system and method involves a network device that includes an external button for toggling the device between a managed mode and an unmanaged mode. When the device is toggled to a managed mode, an Internet Protocol (IP) address is temporarily assigned to the device and the device may be remotely configured. After configuration, the device can be returned to an unmanaged state, and the IP address assigned to the device is cleared. During the period that the device is in a managed state, an external indicator on the device is turned on to confirm that the device is in a managed state.
