Recording of various events in a video format that facilitates viewing and selective editing are provided. The video can be presented in a wiki-format that allows a multitude of subsequent users to add, modify and/or delete content to the original recorded event or a revision of that event. As edits and annotations are applied, either automatically or manually, such edits can be indexed based on criteria such as identification of an annotator, a time stamp associated with the edit, a revision number, or combinations thereof. The edits or annotations can be provided in various formats including video, audio, text, and so forth.

Auto-generation of events with annotation and indexing

Members working on the same project can access similar resources at substantially the same time to facilitate active participation in the project. A meeting associated with the project can be given a unique identifier that can allow the project members to access a meeting or other content and view similar documents or other content as it is discussed in the meeting. As information is edited, modified, created, etc. the members can selectively be presented with the information. A common repository can provide the members with an area or platform in which the project material can be accessed, discussed or other functions performed by the project members, allowing for collaboration of the project details.

Collaborative generation of meeting minutes and agenda confirmation

A media browsing system prepares various media content and synchronizes the content for playback. A user can specify the content and preconfigure the manner in which the content will be subsequently accessible through a user interface. A variety of mobile phone and media player devices having configurable, user interfaces promote a consistent media browsing experience across the devices for users accessing a variety of preconfigured media content.

Data preparation for media browsing

A user can receive content relating to a common topic, such as a project, through a radio-type interface. A frequency or other indicator associated with the project can be selected on a user device. The common topic can be presented to the user, based on the selected frequency and/or an authentication. Presented information can also be provided in a common format requested by the user or as a function of the rendering device. The common format can be facilitated by a conversion component that can change information from a first format to at least a second format. The information can also be presented in more than one format.

Radio-type interface for tuning into content associated with projects

As incoming communications are received, a priority or significance level can be assigned to each communication. A communication determined to have a high priority can be presented to a user at substantially the same time as receiving the communication. A communication having a low priority can be placed in a low priority folder or flagged differently from a high priority communication (e.g., different color-coding). Behavior of a user as it relates to a received communication can be observed for learning purposes or to modify one or more classifications or priority levels.

A system is described which includes a content retriever to retrieve and format data and a media file playlist generated by the content retriever from the data. The media file playlist includes a playlist entry title identifying a title for a media file, a file name identifying the media file, and a metadata tag containing data for performing an action associated with the file. Examples of the actions that may be performed are calling a phone number or sending an email. The system also includes a text file playlist generated by the content retriever from the text data in XML (extensible markup language). The text file play list includes text-to-speech markup tags indentifying the XML-formatted text file as a text-to-speech conversion file. The system further includes a text-to-speech converter configured to generate at least one audio file playlist from the text file playlist and a configuration module associated with the content retriever configured to accept user input instruction that identify the data.

A number of program modules may be stored on the hard disk, magnetic disk, optical disk, ROM, or RAM, including an operating system, one or more application programs, other program modules, and program data. The hard disk, magnetic disk, optical disk, ROM, RAM, and the like can be termed computer readable-storage media. A user may enter commands and information into the personal computerthrough input devices such as a keyboardand pointing device. Other input devices (not shown) may include a microphone, joystick, game pad, satellite dish, scanner, touch sensitive pad, or the like. These and other input devices are often connected to the processing unitthrough a serial port interfacethat is coupled to the system bus, but may be connected by other interfaces, such as a parallel port, game port, or a universal serial bus (USB). In addition, input to the system may be provided by a microphone to receive audio input.

Communications, such as emails or other information, in a work setting can be retained in a shared database that operates similar to an Internet social network. As work activities are performed, the content of the work activities can be associated with one or more shared databases based on the individual performing the activities, a common topic or theme associated with the activity and/or a manual entry. As various individuals review information contained in the shared database, notifications relating to who reviewed the content and a time of review can be sent to a contributor of the content to provide for accountability issues.

Handheld CD (compact disc) players are described. In one instance, a handheld CD player includes a CD drive to receive a CD and to determine a CD identification from the CD and a media slot to receive a portable memory card having a database. The handheld CD player also includes an attributes access module configured to retrieve music attributes from the database associated with the CD identification and to store the CD identification in the database if the CD identification is not already in the database.

The system further includes a text-to-speech converter configured to generate at least one audio file playlist from the text file playlist and a configuration module associated with the content retriever configured to accept user input instructions that identify the data.

An in-vehicle audio browser includes a first set of buttons that are configured to select a preset item. A second set of buttons move forward and backward through a list of items in the audio browser. A third button selects among multiple bands associated with the audio browser. A fourth button activates a function that varies depending on the selected band. The audio browser supports primary audio control bands that affect the audio outputs when selected and conditional audio control bands that do not affect the audio output unless some action on the band requires audio output.
