T-sensor devices that include a main conduit that defines a diffusion space, at least a first and second supply conduit for conveying fluids into the main conduit, and at least one sensor having a sensing zone that extends into the diffusion space in a fixed location relative to the main conduit. The first and second supply conduits are separated by divider from which a diffusion interface extends into the diffusion space. In order to capture sensing information without employing moving the physical location of sensors or employing more sensors, devices according to the invention alter a location of a diffusion interface extending into the diffusion space from a diffusion start point on the divider relative to the sensing zone of the at least one sensor, without altering the fixed location of the sensor relative to the main conduit. Methods of sensing properties of fluids and analytes are also disclosed.

T-sensor devices and methods of using same

An optical traveling-wave resonator that includes a magneto-optically active member through which an optical beam propagates on a non-planar optical propagation path circuit. The resonator further includes at least one mirror in the optical propagation path circuit and a magnetic field generator for applying a magnetic field to the magneto-optically active member such that resonant optical frequencies of normal modes corresponding to traveling waves in opposite directions are substantially different.

Achromatic phase-matching (APM) is used for efficiently multiplying the frequency of broad bandwidth light by using a nonlinear optical medium comprising a second-harmonic generation (SHG) crystal. Stationary optical elements whose configuration, properties, and arrangement have been optimized to match the dispersion characteristics of the SHG crystal to at least the second order. These elements include a plurality of prismatic elements for directing an input light beam onto the SHG crystal such that each ray wavelength is aligned to match the phase-matching angle for the crystal at each wavelength of light to at least the second order and such that every ray wavelength overlap within the crystal.

Apparatus and methods for using achromatic phase matching at high orders of dispersion

A thin walled, plastic bottle or other container having a high rupture strength comprises a length L having a top and a bottom, and width W. The integrity of the bottle or container is compromised by a post manufacture, complete transverse cut made parallel to the width W. The top is completely severed from the bottom at a point along the length L. The top may be discarded. The bottom is comprised of, in part, collapsible side walls. A generally annular insert rim is pressure fitted onto the top-cut member of the bottom, which is formed at the cut line, thus rigidly securing the side walls and preventing any collapse thereby. A cap or closure means is matably engagable with the insert rim to seal the container.
