An apparatus for providing access to social content may include at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code. The at least one memory and the computer program code may be configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to perform at least receiving information providing corresponding identities of a plurality of members of a group, receiving an indication of group content including at least one content item stored in association with the group, and enabling access to the group content by the members based on presence information related to the members indicating that a presence threshold associated with the group content is met. A corresponding method and computer program product are also provided.

Method and apparatus for providing access to social content

A handset having a housing having a display and first keypad. The first keypad is removably coupled to the housing. Circuitry is provided within the housing. The circuitry is adapted to interface with the display and the first keypad. A second keypad is provided. The second keypad is exchangeable with the first keypad. The second keypad is adapted to replace the first keypad on the housing when the first keypad is removed from the housing.

An integrated light guide for use in an electronic device having a plurality of key buttons to allow a user to input signals in the device, the light guide having a plurality of domes used as touch areas of the key buttons and a plurality of light escapement areas disposed at the domes. When coupled to a light source, a portion of the light received by the light guide from the light source escapes from the light escapement areas to illuminate the key buttons. Preferably, each dome has one or more electrically conducting patches provided under the dome such that when a touch area is pushed by the user, these patches are caused to interact with an electronic circuit placed under the light guide for activating a key.

A keypad is disclosed for a portable electronic device. The keypad comprises an outer surface and a number of pressable keys ( ). Associated with each key there is a pair of conductive contact points ( ) separated from each other. A plurality of elastic domes ( ) is located next to the conductive contact points. For each pair of conductive contact points ( ) there is an adjacent elastic dome ( ) having a concave side and a convex side, of which the concave side is at least partially conductive and directed towards the pair of conductive contact points. The concave sides of the plurality of elastic domes ( ) are directed towards the outer surface of the keypad.

An integrated key and a method of producing the integrated key, wherein the integrated key can be used on an electronic device. The integrated key includes an organic light-emitting layer and a plurality of electrodes, operatively connected to a power source, to activate the light-emitting layer in order to illuminate the key. Furthermore, the light-emitting layer and the electrodes can be arranged into a group of segments or pixels. The segments or pixels can be individually addressable so that they can be selectively activated to from a symbol or words. The key is implemented on a substrate and includes an encapsulation layer to form a cavity for filling with a gaseous species to protect the organic light-emitting layer in the key.

Integration of organic light-emitting components into the keyboard of an electronic device

A fiber mesh net is insert molded into an interior cavity of a cover structure of a portable electronic device such as a cellular or radio telephone to provide EMI shielding. The fiber mesh net is also bonded to one surface of a polymer sheet which additionally carries electronic circuitry on its opposite side to form a laminate which is inserted molded into a cover structure to extend electrical circuitry functionality via selected fibers of the fiber mesh net for access from the electronic device cover.

EMI shielding for portable electronic devices

An integrated keymat or keyboard to be used on an electronic device. The integrated keymat includes a plurality of individual emissive keypads each having a legend or symbol provided thereon. The emissive keypad has a light-emitting source and a plurality of electrodes, operatively connected to a power source, to activate the light-emitting source in order to illuminate the keypads, wherein the connection of the electrodes is controllable so that one or more keypads can be illuminated causing the key indicating marks on said one or more keypads to become more visible. Furthermore, the light-emitting source may include a plurality of segments of pixels which are individually addressable so that they can be selectively activated to form an alphanumeric symbol or pattern. Moreover, the integrated keymat further comprises one or more lens-like pads provided on the keypads to make the legend or symbol on the keypads more visible.

Arrangement for integration of key illumination into keymat of portable electronic devices

A keyboard and a method of arranging such a keyboard. The keyboard has a first side and a second side for providing information in an electronic device. The keyboard includes one electronic circuit located on the first side and another on the second side, and a spacer plate separating the electronic circuits. The spacer plate has a plurality of apertures to house a plurality of dome-shaped contacts, some facing the first circuit and some facing the second circuit. A plurality of keys located on both sides of the keyboard for pressing the dome-shaped contacts to make electrical contact with the facing electronic circuits. The spacer plate can be used as a light guide for illuminating the keyboard.

An arrangement of a plurality of status keys in a keyboard for entering information in an electronic device. The keyboard comprises a plurality of regular keys connected to a resistive strip at a plurality of locations for providing a first signal when one of the regular keys is pressed and the first signal is indicative of the location associated with the pressed regular key; a plurality of resistors, each having a different resistance, connected in series to the resistive strip, and separately connected in parallel to the status keys so that the resistors can be selectively by-passed by pressing one or more status keys, wherein a second signal is provided when one of the regular keys is pressed together with at least one status key, and wherein the second signal is indicative of the resistance the status key for identifying the pressed status key.

A keypad arrangement for an electronic device comprises a keypad comprising activatable keys. It comprises also input signal means ( ) for bringing an electric input signal to the keypad, and signal conversion means ( ) for responding to a key activation by selectively converting the input signal into an electric output signal the value of which depends on the activated key. Additionally there are output signal detection means ( ) for detecting the value of the electric output signal. The arrangement comprises a first electromagnetic coupling ( ) between the input signal means and the signal conversion means, and a second electromagnetic coupling ( ) between the signal conversion means and the output signal detection means.

Capacitively coupled keypad structure

An electronic device molded cover is disclosed with a releasable EMI shield to facilitate removal to separate the EMI shield and the cover into respective individual parts for reuse as raw material in the production of similar product applications. The EMI shield is made of an electrically conductive fabric sheet having glue drops in a spaced relation on one face for attachment to the interior of the cover. In an alternate embodiment, a conductive polymer paint coating is applied to the interior of the cover.
