The invention relates to a gastroenteric therapeutic composition for oral administration, comprising a compound of monomeric (+)-catechin and at least one basic amino acid, said composition being characterized in that it is used in the form of a complex of (+)-catechin and at least one basic amino acid or at least one derivative or precursor of a basic amino acid for the curative and/or preventive treatment of cancer, said complex having a molar equivalence ratio of the monomeric (+)-catechin to the at least one basic amino acid or the at least one basic amino acid derivative of between 1:1 and 1:2.5.

Granular or powder compositions containing diethylenetriaminepenta(methylenephosphonic acid) and/or its salts in admixture with sodium sulphate and/or bisulphate in an amount, expressed as the equivalent amount of anhydrous sodium sulphate, of at least 60% of the dry weight of the diethylenetriaminepenta(methylenephosphonic acid) and/or its salts can be stored for extended periods while remaining in the form of free-flowing solids.

Aminomethylenephosphonate compositions

Aqueous solutions of aminomethylenephosphonic acid selected from diethylenetriaminepenta(methylenephosphonic acid), diethylenetriaminetetra(methylenephosphonic acid), diethylenetriaminetri(methylenephosphonic acid) and mixtures thereof are stabilized against crystallization of said aminomethylenephosphonic acid by including non-oxidizing mineral acid in such solutions in an amount stoichiometrically equivalent to at least 10% hydrochloric acid by weight of the solution.

Aminomethylenephosphonate-coated granules of substantially water-insoluble silicate having improved stability in the presence of peroxygen compounds. Such coatings can comprise alkali metal aminomethylenephosphonate of the formula: ##STR1## where each R is H, CH.sub.2 PO.sub.3 H.sub.2 or CH.sub.2 PO.sub.3 HM or CH.sub.2 PO.sub.3 M.sub.2 ; where M is an alkali metal; and n is 0 or an integer, preferably an integer of from 1 to 4. The coatings are substantially free of peroxygen compounds and peroxy compound precursors.

Aqueous solutions of aminomethylenephosphonic acid selected from diethylenetriaminepenta(methylenephosphonic acid). diethylenetriaminetetra(methylenephosphonic acid), diethylenetriaminetri(methylenephosphonic acid) and mixtures thereof are stabilized against crystallization of said aminomethylenephosphonic acid by including non-oxidizing mineral acid in such solutions in an amount stoichiometrically equivalent to at least 10% hydrochloric acid by weight of the solution.

Compositions comprising (a) diethylenetriaminopenta(methylenephosphonic acid) or an alkali metal salt thereof and (b) aminotri(methylenephosphonic acid) or an alkali metal salt thereof wherein the amount of (b) is from 5 to 70% of the total weight of (a) and (b) are effective stabilizers against precipitation and scaling of alkaline solutions containing potentially scale-forming components.
