An absorbent article, the absorbent article being a personal hygiene article, comprising a liquid permeable top sheet, a liquid impermeable back sheet, and an absorbent core enclosed between the top sheet and the back sheet, and a fluid flow control member arranged between the top sheet and the backsheet, said fluid flow control member being of a nonwoven material comprising a three dimensional network of fibres, said fibres having a thickness of 200-700 &#x3bc;m, said nonwoven material having a strain of max 50% at 5 kPa.

The disclosure concerns a compressed menstrual tampon including an elongated generally rod-shaped absorption body having an insertion end and a withdrawal end and having a withdrawal string extending from the withdrawal end. The absorption body has at least one wave-shaped compression line extending continuously from the insertion end to the withdrawal end.

A panty liner which includes active additives, such as lactobacilli. The liner includes a liquid-permeable top sheet which lies proximal to the wearer in use, a liquid-impermeable backing sheet which lies distal from the wearer in use, possibly an intermediate absorbent layer, and possibly fastener means. The panty liner is manufactured in a manner such that the active additives, preferably lactobacillus, are given a sufficiently effective and dry environment to ensure a healthy survival rate of the additives until the product is used.
