A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle. Responsive to processing at an image processor of a first frame of image data captured by the camera, the system detects a first object exterior of the vehicle, and responsive to processing at the image processor of a second frame of image data captured by the camera, the system detects a second object exterior or the vehicle. The system determines, based on a similarity measure, that the second object is the same as the first object and, responsive to determining that the second object is the same as the first object, using a smoothing filter, modifies the determined second position of the second detected object. The system, based on the modified determined second position of the second detected object relative to the equipped vehicle, updates parameters of the smoothing filter. The system tracks the second detected object.

Vehicular vision system with object detection and identification with adaptive thresholding

A vehicular trailer hitching assist system includes a camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and viewing at least rearward of the vehicle. The vehicular trailer hitching assist system, via image processing of image data captured by the camera during a reversing maneuver of the vehicle toward a trailer that is spaced rearward from the vehicle, detects the trailer. The vehicular trailer hitching assist system determines relative location of a trailer coupler of the detected trailer to a hitch ball of the vehicle and determines a path of travel for the vehicle to maneuver the vehicle toward the detected trailer to move the hitch ball of the vehicle toward the trailer coupler. The vehicular trailer hitching assist system at least in part maneuvers the vehicle along the determined path of travel to move the hitch ball of the vehicle toward the trailer coupler of the detected trailer.

A vehicular driver assist system includes a forward-viewing camera disposed at and viewing through a windshield of a vehicle. The vehicular driver assist system sets an initial vehicle soft lock speed when speed of the vehicle reaches an initial threshold speed of travel. With the initial vehicle soft lock speed set and with the vehicle speed exceeding the initial vehicle soft lock speed, the system maintains the vehicle speed at the initial vehicle soft lock speed when the vehicle speed reduces to the initial vehicle soft lock speed by coasting. When speed of the vehicle increases by a multiple of a vehicle speed increment above the initial vehicle soft lock speed, the system sets an increased vehicle soft lock speed and maintains the vehicle speed at the increased vehicle soft lock speed when the vehicle speed reduces to the increased vehicle soft lock speed by coasting.

A vehicular trailer hitching assist system includes a camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and viewing at least rearward of the vehicle. During a reversing maneuver of the vehicle toward a trailer that is spaced from the vehicle at a distance from the vehicle, the camera views at least a portion of a front profile of the trailer. An electronic control unit (ECU) includes an image processor operable to process image data captured by the camera. The vehicular trailer hitching assist system, via image processing at the ECU of image data captured by the camera during the reversing maneuver of the vehicle toward the trailer, determines a plurality of landmarks corresponding to the front profile of the trailer. Based at least in part on the determined plurality of landmarks, the vehicular trailer hitching assist system determines location of a trailer coupler of the trailer.

A vehicular driver assistance system includes a propulsion selection sensor operable to provide an output representative of a current direction of propulsion of a vehicle. The system, responsive to the output, determines an entry propulsion direction used by the vehicle to enter a parking space. The system stores the determined entry propulsion direction used by the vehicle to enter the parking space. The system, responsive to the vehicle preparing to exit the parking space, determines an exit propulsion direction of the vehicle. The system compares the stored determined entry propulsion direction used by the vehicle to enter the parking space and the exit propulsion direction of the vehicle. The system, responsive to determining that the stored determined entry propulsion direction used by the vehicle to enter the parking space is the same as the exit propulsion direction of the vehicle, provides an alert to a driver of the vehicle.

A vehicular trailer hitching assist system includes a camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and viewing at least rearward of the vehicle. An electronic control unit (ECU) includes an image processor operable to process image data captured by the camera. The ECU, via image processing of image data captured by the camera, detects a trailer rearward of the vehicle and determines a first path of travel for the vehicle to follow to maneuver the vehicle toward the trailer and to align the tow ball of the vehicle with a trailer hitch of the trailer. The ECU generates an output to maneuver the vehicle along the determined first path of travel. Responsive to detection of an object entering the first path of travel, the ECU determines a second path of travel for the vehicle to follow that avoids the detected object entering the determined path of travel.

Vehicular trailer hitching assist system

A trailering assist system for a vehicle includes a camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and having a field of view rearward of the vehicle, the field of view encompassing at least a portion of a trailer rearward of the vehicle. The camera captures image data, which is representative of at least a front profile of the trailer, which includes a trailer coupler of the trailer. An ECU includes an image processor that processes image data captured by the camera. The ECU, responsive to image processing of captured image data, determines a location of the front profile of the trailer relative to the vehicle. Responsive to determining the location of the front profile, the ECU determines a plurality of outline landmarks that represent a shape of the front profile of the trailer. Based on the determined outline landmarks, the ECU determines a location of the trailer coupler.

A driver assist system for a vehicle includes a vehicle speed sensor disposed at a vehicle. An ECU includes a processor for processing sensor data generated by the vehicle speed sensor. The ECU, responsive to processing at the ECU of sensor data generated by the vehicle speed sensor, determines speed of the vehicle. The ECU, responsive to determining that the speed of the vehicle reaches a vehicle soft lock speed, automatically enables a vehicle speed soft lock. The ECU, responsive to the vehicle reducing speed to the vehicle soft lock speed by coasting, maintains the current vehicle speed at the vehicle soft lock speed. The ECU, responsive to the speed of the vehicle increasing a multiple of a vehicle speed increment above the vehicle soft lock speed, automatically sets an increased vehicle soft lock speed that is the multiple of the vehicle speed increment above the vehicle soft lock speed.

A vision system for a vehicle includes a camera and an electronic control unit (ECU) with an image processor. The ECU generates a reduced resolution frame of captured image data and the ECU determines a reduced resolution detection result based on pedestrian detection using the reduced resolution frame of captured image data. The ECU, responsive to processing by the image processor of image data, generates a cropped frame of captured image data and the ECU determines a cropped detection result based on pedestrian detection using the cropped frame of captured image data. Responsive to determining the reduced resolution detection result and determining the cropped detection result, the ECU merges the reduced resolution detection result and the cropped detection result into a final pedestrian detection result. The final pedestrian detection result is indicative of presence of a pedestrian within the field of view of the camera.

A trailer hitching assist system for a vehicle includes a camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and having a field of view rearward of the vehicle. A control includes an image processor operable to process image data captured by the camera. The image processor, via image processing of image data captured by the camera, detects a trailer and trailer hitch rearward of the vehicle and determines a first path of travel for the vehicle to follow so as to maneuver the vehicle so as to have its tow ball aligned with the trailer hitch. The control maneuvers the vehicle along the determined first path of travel. Responsive to detection of an object entering the first path of travel, the control determines a second path of travel and maneuvers the vehicle along the second path of travel to avoid the detected object entering the determined path of travel.
