Compositions with cyclopropenes and metal-complexing agents

The present invention relates to complexes formed from molecular encapsulation agents such as cyclodextrin, and cyclopropene and its derivatives such as methylcyclopropene, which are capable of inhibiting the ethylene response in plants. More specifically this invention relates to compositions of cyclopropenes and molecular encapsulation agents containing additives to improve the release of the cyclopropene when the composition is contacted with water.

A method for making a viscosity index improving copolymer includes heating a reaction mixture including from about 55 weight percent to about 99.5 weight percent of a first monomer selected from the group consisting of (C -C )alkyl (meth)acrylates and mixtures thereof, from about 0.5 weight percent to about 45 weight percent of a second monomer selected from the group consisting of (C -C )alkyl (meth)acrylates, (C -C )alkyl(meth)acrylates and mixtures thereof, a polymerization initiator and a hydrocarbon diluent, to a reaction temperature from about 75&deg; C. to about 100&deg; C. and maintaining the reaction mixture at the reaction temperature for a period of time effective to allow copolymerization of the monomers.

Method of making a copolymer useful as viscosity index improving additive for hydraulic fluid

Stable dispersions of certain pesticides in agricultural oil are provided. In particular, the dispersions include a particulate pesticide, agricultural oil, and an agricultural oil-soluble polymer, the polymer in some instances containing a copolymerized polar monomer. Also provided is a method for forming the stable dispersion.

The present invention relates to pesticide compositions in which at least one of the components of the composition is a polymeric material which reduces the rate of crystallization of the pesticide active ingredient in the composition. This invention also provides a method for reducing the rate of crystallization of pesticide active ingredients and a method for controlling pests comprising applying to the pest the polymer-containing composition.

Pesticide compositions

Polymer compositions derived from selected alkyl (meth)acrylate ester monomers used in certain weight ratios to provide improved viscosity control and low temperature performance characteristics in phosphate ester aircraft hydraulic fluids is disclosed. Polymer compositions for use as viscosity index improving additives in aircraft hydraulic fluids contain from 40 to 100 weight percent (C.sub.1 -C.sub.10)alkyl (meth)acrylate and zero to 60 weight percent (C.sub.11 -C.sub.20)alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer units. Preferred polymer compositions based on 40 to 70 weight percent (C.sub.1 -C.sub.10)alkyl (meth)acrylate and 30 to 60 weight percent (C.sub.11 -C.sub.15)alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer units combine good solubility in the phosphate ester hydraulic fluids with good viscosity control at low and high temperatures.

A lubricating oil composition includes from 0.01 weight per cent to 2 weight per cent of a polymer that includes repeating units derived from a (C.sub.8 -C.sub.15)alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer and 98 weight per cent to 99.99 weight per cent of a vegetable oil or a polyol ester.
