An absorbent article has a front region, a back region, and a crotch region extending between and connecting the front region and the back region. A non-rectangular absorbent core is located in the absorbent article wherein a portion of the absorbent core is positioned in an overlapping relationship with an elastic material located in at least one of the front region or back region. The non-rectangular absorbent core has a narrowest width dimension in the transverse direction of the absorbent article which is offset from each of the transverse axis of the absorbent article and the narrowest width of the absorbent article. Longitudinally extending elastic material located in the crotch region of the absorbent article is positioned in a spaced apart relationship to the longitudinal direction side edges of the absorbent core.

Absorbent article

A method of manufacturing an undergarment includes moving a web of body panel material in a longitudinal machine direction, forming a cutout in the web, cutting the web of body panel material along the longitudinal machine direction and thereby forming a rear body panel web and a front body panel web, and connecting a crotch member to each of the rear and front body panel webs. The crotch member covers said cutout when connected to the rear and front body panel webs. A disposable undergarment having a cutout, and a method for the use thereof, is also provided.

A pant-like disposable garment for absorbing human discharge is disclosed. The pant-like garment includes a front panel, a back panel, and an absorbent assembly. The absorbent assembly includes a bodyside liner, an outer cover, and an absorbent positioned therebetween. The absorbent assembly further including a pair of end edges and is secured to the front panel and to the back panel. The front and back panels are joined together by a pair of seams to form a waist opening and a pair of leg openings. The garment also includes a pair of perforation lines formed in the front panel with each being aligned non-parallel to one of the seams. The garment further includes a pair of attachment members which overlap the pair of perforation lines. The pair of perforation lines and the pair of attachment members function to allow the waist opening to be easily opened and closed more than once.

Pant-like disposable garment for absorbing human discharge

A breathable, biodegradable/compostable laminate for use in personal care products. The laminates may be produced from polymer blends. The biodegradable/compostable laminates may be used in a disposable absorbent product intended for the absorption of fluids such as body fluids.

An absorbent garment includes a body panel and an absorbent composite having a longitudinally extending length and a laterally extending width and including a backsheet, a topsheet and a retention portion disposed between the backsheet and the topsheet. The absorbent composite is connected to the body panel and includes a side margin that is not attached to the body panel and that extends laterally outboard and terminates in a free edge. In one preferred embodiment, the free edge does not extend along the entirety of the length of the absorbent composite. Rather, the entire width of an end of the absorbent composite is secured to the body panel. Preferably, the width of the side margin along the portion of the absorbent composite overlapping the body panel is relatively constant.

Polymer resin/dispersed modifier compositions are provided. The polymer resin/dispersed modifier compositions have improved melt processability and properties and may be used to thermally process films, fibers, and articles having improved properties. In one embodiment, the polymer resin/dispersed modifier compositions are further grafted with one or more monomers, which graft onto the polymer resin and/or the dispersed modifier. In a further embodiment, the polymer resin is a water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer, such as polyethylene oxide; the modifier is a styrene butadiene polymer, a carboxylated acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene polymer, or a combination thereof; and the grafted monomer is poly(ethylene glycol) ethyl ether methacrylate, poly(ethylene glycol) ethyl ether acrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), poly(ethylene glycol) methacrylate (PEG-MA), or a mixture thereof. The grafted PEO/dispersed modifier compositions have improved properties compared to unmodified polyethylene oxide compositions, and modified polyethylene oxide compositions.

Novel breathable environmentally stable, water weakenable films, fibers, and articles, useful for disposable applications and methods for making them are disclosed. The films, fibers and articles are manufactured from novel polymer blends and demonstrate improved stability and enhanced strength when exposed to environmental conditions of increased humidity and elevated temperature. The breathable, environmentally stable, water weakenable films, fibers, and articles manufactured from the novel polymer blends are particularly useful for the manufacture of disposable products.

Novel polymer blends useful for manufacturing breathable, environmentally stable, and water weakenable disposable films, fibers, and articles, and methods for making the blends are disclosed.
