A saddle window air conditioner includes an interior casing and an exterior casing. A chaseway extends between the interior casing and the exterior casing. A first sleeve of the chaseway is slidably received within a second sleeve of the chaseway such that a length of the chaseway between the interior casing and the exterior casing is adjustable by sliding the first sleeve within the second sleeve. A mounting bracket is mountable at a window. The mounting bracket includes a support leg, a lift foot slidably mounted to the support leg, and a spring coupled to the lift foot. The lift foot is connectable to the exterior casing. The spring urges the lift foot and the exterior casing upwardly on the support leg when the mounting bracket is positioned in the window and the lift foot is connected to the exterior casing.

Saddle window air conditioner with an adjustable chaseway

Air conditioner units, bulkhead assemblies, and methods for operating air conditioner units are provided. A bulkhead assembly includes a bulkhead which includes a first sidewall, a second sidewall, and a rear wall extending laterally between the first sidewall and the second sidewall. The rear wall includes an indoor facing surface and an opposing outdoor facing surface. The bulkhead assembly further includes a vent aperture defined in the rear wall, and a vent door movable between an open position and a closed position, wherein in the open position the vent door permits air flow through the vent aperture and in the closed position the vent door inhibits air flow through the vent aperture. The bulkhead assembly further includes a drive assembly connected to the vent door and operable to selectively move the vent door between the open position and the closed position.

Voltage adapter systems for use in an appliance are provided. An exemplary voltage adapter system can include a TRIAC. The exemplary voltage adapter system can include a voltage detection circuit configured to detect an input voltage of an alternating current power signal and connect the TRIAC in series with a load of the appliance when the input voltage is greater than a threshold voltage. The exemplary voltage adapter system can include a firing angle control circuit configured to provide a gate signal to a gate of the TRIAC when the alternating current power signal reaches a phase angle. An exemplary firing angle control circuit can include a resistor, a capacitor, and a DIAC. The exemplary firing angle control circuit can be configured to trigger the TRIAC when the voltage across the capacitor exceeds a breakover voltage associated with the DIAC.

Voltage adapter systems for use in an appliance

A system for protecting an electrical junction having a first pin and a second pin is provided. The system includes a first circuit protection device coupled to the first pin and configured to sense at least a first current and a second circuit protection device coupled to the second pin and configured to sense at least a second current. Each of the first circuit protection device and the second circuit protection device includes a trip mechanism configured to interrupt current flowing through a respective circuit protection device and a trip unit operatively coupled to the trip mechanism. The trip unit is configured to activate the trip mechanism based on a determination that a respective current exceeds a predetermined threshold.

System and method for protecting an appliance junction

An appliance for conditioning air of a room comprises one or more power consuming features/functions including a temperature controlling element for one of heating and cooling air. A controller is operatively connected to the one or more power consuming features/functions. The controller is configured to receive and process a signal indicative of a utility state. The controller operates the appliance in one of a plurality of operating modes, including at least a normal operating mode and an energy savings mode in response to the received signal. The controller is configured to at least one of selectively adjust and deactivate at least one of the one or more power consuming features/functions to reduce power consumption of the appliance in the energy savings mode.
