A method for obtaining multi-material decomposition images of an object is presented. The method includes acquiring an image pair from a dual energy computed tomography scan of the imaged object. The method then includes selecting a material basis for multi-material decomposition of the image pair. The method further includes applying a physicochemical model for the material basis. Also, the method includes performing multi-material decomposition using at least one constraint imposed by the physicochemical model.

An imaging system includes an identification module, a determination module, and a display module. The identification module is configured to identify one or more first scanning parameters and one or more first display parameters corresponding to a first image, and to identify one or more second scanning parameters corresponding to scanning information acquired during a second scan. The determination module is configured to determine, based on the one or more first scanning parameters and the one or more second scanning parameters, one or more second display parameters so that the scanning information acquired during the second scan may be used to provide a second image appearing more similar to the first image. The display module is configured to use the one or more second display parameters to provide the second image configured to be displayed to a viewer.

Systems and methods for selecting image display parameters

An imaging system includes an x-ray source configured to emit a beam of x-rays toward an object to be imaged, a detector configured to receive x-rays that are attenuated by the object, a data acquisition system (DAS) operably coupled to the detector, and a computer operably coupled to the DAS and programmed to obtain scan data with two or more incident energy spectra, decompose the obtained scan data into at least three basis materials, generate an image of one of the at least three basis materials using the decomposed scan data, and replace at least one pixel in the image using decomposed data of another of the at least three basis materials.

Apparatus and method of visualizing multi-energy imaging data

The present technology relates to the generation of a CT image under an arbitrary energy spectrum based on the results of a dual energy scan. In certain embodiments, a dual energy scan is conducted of an object and material basis decomposition is used to decompose the scanned object into two basis materials with known attenuation properties resulting in material density images. Along with knowledge of other imaging system information, forward projection is done under an arbitrary kV spectrum to generate an image as if the scanned object was scanned under this different kV spectrum. This prevents users from conducting unnecessary additional scans.

Systems, methods and computer instructions for displaying multi-energy data are provided. Certain methods include: receiving multi-energy data from an operably connected data source; displaying the multi-energy data as an image via a graphical user interface; selecting a region of interest in the displayed image; and displaying information regarding the region of interest via the graphical user interface. Certain methods include: (1) displaying a graph that includes an attenuation line depicting radiodensity versus energy level; (2) displaying a material density graph of a region of interest and/or of results of segmenting a region of interest; and/or (3) displaying information in a window configured to be movable about an interface. Certain methods include: receiving multi-energy data from an operably connected data source; and displaying the multi-energy data as a fused image via a graphical user interface.

Systems and methods for displaying multi-energy data

Certain embodiments provide a radiation analysis system for material segmentation utilizing computed tomography (CT) scans. The radiation analysis system includes an input module configured to input dual energy data. The dual energy scanned data includes first data corresponding to a first parameter and second data corresponding to a second parameter for a given scanned volume. The radiation analysis system also includes a processor configured to generate a scatter plot based on the dual energy data. The first data corresponds to a first axis and the second data corresponds to a second axis. The processor is configured to identify at least one material type based on the scatter plot.
