A method for treating a disease or for treating a symptom of a disease, or a combination of both, the disease being caused or aggravated by microorganisms includes: treating the disease, treating the symptom of the disease, or reducing the duration of the disease, or a combination of both by administering a barrier-forming composition in a therapeutically effective amount to a surface, the surface comprising a mammal mucosa, the mammal being infected with the disease or experiencing symptoms of the disease caused or aggravated by the microorganisms. The barrier-forming composition includes an antimicrobial. Upon administering the composition, the method includes forming a barrier coating on the surface that is active to kill or neutralize microorganisms encountered by the barrier coating. A composition with an agent active for relieving symptoms of a disease is also included.

Method for treatment of disease caused or aggravated by microorganisms or relieving symptoms thereof

A method for blocking, neutralizing, or killing microorganisms that cause infectious disease in a mammal prior to or during the mammal encountering a contaminated environment or item includes: identifying a contaminated environment or item, wherein the contaminated environment or item is known or expected to be contaminated with harmful viral, fungal, or bacterial microorganisms; and administering a therapeutically effective amount of a barrier-forming composition to a mucosa of the mammal prior to or during the mammal encountering the contaminated environment or item. The barrier-forming composition provides a barrier on the mucosa that inhibits the microorganisms from contacting the mucosa. Other related methods are also included.

This disclosure relates to a cushion and more particularly to a pillow providing cervical alignment by way of a cervical spine support structure that is positioned along a major axis of the pillow, and that can be rotated around the major axis. The pillow utilizes one or more of the following features: 1) a dimensionally correct platform for the proper sleep posture of a majority of body types on a wide array of mattress types; 2) A non-crush zone integrated cervical support roll which can be adjusted for extended durations of supportive comfort. (The roll&#x2014;in and of itself&#x2014;is unique compared to the standard of care because of its foam densities and its semi-hollowed out section); and 3) A sleep posture platform with a side sleeping position and a back-sleeping position. The pillow standardizes care by placement of the support roll inside a dimensionally correct platform using different materials.

In an embodiment, the barrier-forming composition includes a carbohydrate gum, a humectant, and an antimicrobial agent. The composition furthermore meets the following requirements: about 0.01%&#x2266;C&#x2266;about 0.4%; about 4.5%&#x2266;H&#x2266;about 65%; and 0.050%&#x3c;A; or about 0%&#x2266;C&#x2266;about 0.4%; about 55%&#x2266;H&#x2266;about 65%; and 0.050%&#x3c;A. C is the carbohydrate gum; H is the humectant; and A is the antimicrobial agent. All percentages are by weight of the total composition. In an embodiment the barrier-forming composition has an Rf value in water of 0 to about 0.25.

A steam mop that includes a handle, an extension member, a base mount, a steam generator, and a mop head. The steam generator includes a body that at least partially contains a fluid tank, fluid pump and a heating element used to at least partially vaporize fluid. The body of the steam generator is designed to be releasably connected to the base mount such that the steam generator can be used as a steam producing device for the steam mop or can be disconnected from the base mount and be used as a stand alone steam producing device.

The bottom wall includes a drain opening to enable liquid to drain from the container cavity. The lid is designed to be movable between an open and closed position. The lid forms a cover over a top of the container cavity. The lid includes a filter rib that extends partially into the container cavity when the lid is in a closed position. A drain plug is provided to control a flow of liquid through the drain opening.
