An apparatus may include a processor, memory, a power component, a set of control buttons, and one or more radio components for lighting control. The apparatus may be a light control device associated with a home or automation system. The light control device may be a light switch cover with a cover plate that encapsulate a light switch. The light switch cover may have a radio, a battery, and control circuitry for lighting control.

Apparatus for lighting control

Methods, systems, and devices for Wi-Fi routers and switching are described. An apparatus for wireless communication in a Wi-Fi network may include a set of radio frequency (RF) switches, where a first RF switch provides a connection for a set of RF signal paths to a processor of the apparatus and a second RF switch provides a connection for the set of RF signal paths to an antenna of the apparatus. The set of RF signal paths may include a combination of one or more highpass signal paths, lowpass signal paths, bandpass signal paths, or passthrough signal paths. The apparatus may determine a set of Wi-Fi channels for the wireless communication with one or more wireless devices of the Wi-Fi network, select at least one RF signal path to pass at least one Wi-Fi channel, and process the wireless communication using the at least one RF signal path.

A security system control panel or home automation control panel including an end-user replaceable cellular telephony module that is removable from the control panel without disassembling the control panel. The cellular module includes a body, a cellular telephony circuit coupled to the body, a cellular telephony antenna coupled to the body and the cellular telephony circuit, and a first connector coupled to the cellular telephony circuit and the body, wherein the first connector is sized and shaped or otherwise configured to be removably engaged by the end-user with a second connector in the control panel.

A system and method for configuring a security system using near-field communication devices that receive and transmit radio frequency signals is described. A first near-field communication device of the security system has a preset distance range. The security system communicates, using the first near-field communication device, with a second near-field communication device of a user device in response to the second near-field communication device being within the preset distance range of the first near-field communication device. The security system provides configuration information of the security system from the second near-field communication device to the first near-field communication device.

System and method for configuring a security system using near-field communication

An adjustable security sensor device is described. The device comprises a magnetic field sensor, a user input element, and a processor. The magnetic field sensor measures and samples magnetic fields from a magnet external to the device. The magnetic field sensor generates a first range of magnetic fields measurements sampled based on a first position of the magnet relative to the magnetic field sensor. The user input element identifies a second range of magnetic fields measurements based on a second position of the magnet relative to the magnetic field sensor. The device generates a sampling of magnetic fields measurements using the magnetic field sensor, compares the sampling of magnetic fields measurements with the first range of magnetic fields measurements and the second range of magnetic fields measurements, and identifies a position of the device relative to the magnet based on the comparison.

Adjustable entry security sensor

The present disclosure relates to an expandable antenna for a security system that is installed within a wall. The security system may include a control unit. The control unit may include a casing that houses one or more internal components of the control unit and a radio-frequency (RF) communication module that is situated within the casing. The RF communication module includes an antenna connected that is exposed to the exterior of the casing. An expandable antenna connects to the antenna connector. The expandable antenna is fit through an aperture in a wall and is then expanded to an enlarged size within the gap of the wall.
