The invention relates to a method for making a nonwoven fabric comprising forming polymer fibers from a melt of the polymer material and using these fibers to obtain a nonwoven fabric during a subsequent nonwoven fabric formation procedure, wherein the melt of the polymer material comprises a melt additive, wherein the method comprises thermal bonding at a temperature higher than 40&#xb0; C. below the melting point of the polymer material and, additionally, one or both of the following steps: a. improving the mobility of the additive by heat-treating the nonwoven fabric at 100&#xb0; C. or more for 0.1 seconds or more after the nonwoven fabric formation procedure and/or including a filler having a higher thermal conductivity than the polymer material to the polymer material; b. influencing the polymer crystallinity by including a nucleating agent, branched polymers and/or random co-polymers to the polymer material.

High barrier nonwoven fabric

Material webs suitable for use in conjunction with disposable absorbent articles are disclosed herein. The material webs comprise a melt additive that when subjected to thermal energy may be encouraged to bloom across the entirety of the web or in localized areas of the web where localized thermal energy is applied.

Absorbent article with activatable material

A nonwoven substrate for an absorbent article including a layer of fibers is provided. The nonwoven substrate has a low surface tension fluid strikethrough time to basis weight ratio in the range of about 0.37 s/gsm to about 5 s/gsm. A plurality of the fibers each include fibrils extending outwardly from a surface of the fibers. The plurality of the fibers are made from a composition including a polyolefin and about 11% to about 35% of glycerol tristearate by weight of the composition. The nonwoven substrate has a specific surface area in the range of about 1 m/g to about 4 m/g.

Absorbent articles with nonwoven substrates having fibrils

A wipe comprises a nonwoven substrate comprising a layer of fibers. A plurality of the fibers comprise fibrils extending outwardly therefrom only after a time period. The time period is greater than about 24 hours post-nonwoven substrate formation under ambient conditions.

The present disclosure is directed, in part, to an absorbent article comprising a liquid pervious material, a liquid impervious material, and an absorbent core disposed at least partially intermediate the liquid pervious material and the liquid impervious material. The absorbent article comprises one or more nonwoven substrates each comprising one or more layers of fibers. A plurality of the fibers each comprise a plurality of fibrils extending outwardly from a surface of the fibers. The plurality of fibrils comprise a lipid ester.

The present disclosure is directed, in part, to a method of forming an absorbent article. The method comprises providing a nonwoven substrate comprising a plurality of fibers. At least some of the plurality of fibers comprise a plurality of fibrils extending outwardly from a surface of the fibers. The fibrils comprise a lipid ester having a melting point greater than 35&#xb0; C. The method comprises incorporating the nonwoven substrate into the absorbent article.

Methods for forming absorbent articles with nonwoven substrates

An absorbent hygiene article that comprises a barrier component, which comprises a nonwoven barrier sheet, comprising at least a spunbond nonwoven web or layer with spunbond fibers and/or a meltblown nonwoven web or layer with meltblown fibers, either or both or all layers comprising fibers comprising thermoplastic polymers and an organic additive component.
