An apparatus is provided for receiving a substance, and includes a body defining a chamber for receiving the substance; and a dome-shaped needle penetrable and resealable portion that is penetrable by the needle for aseptically filling introducing substance into the chamber. The penetrable and resealable portion includes an injection member contacting member configured to contact and wipe the injection member during movement of the injection member therethrough, and is resealable to seal the product from ambient atmosphere within the chamber.

Containers with penetrable and resealable portion, and related methods

A container is provided for storing a product, such as a fat containing liquid product, and includes a body defining a chamber for receiving the product; and a container closure including a sealing portion for sealing the product within the chamber. The container closure includes a member forming a substantially fluid-tight seal between the container closure and the body; a nipple in fluid communication with the chamber that seals the chamber with respect to the ambient atmosphere during storage of the product in the chamber and that can be opened to dispense product from the chamber therethrough; and a needle penetrable and laser resealable portion that is penetrable by the needle for aseptically filling the chamber with the product, and that is thermally resealable by the application of laser radiation thereto to seal the product within the chamber.

Apparatus and method for filling containers

An apparatus for storing fluid and dispensing multiple portions of a stored fluid therefrom. The apparatus comprises a container defining a variable-volume storage chamber for receiving therein the fluid and a dispensing valve including a valve inlet coupled in fluid communication with the variable volume storage chamber, and a valve member in fluid communication with the valve inlet and defining a normally-closed valve opening. The valve member is responsive to fluid at the valve inlet exceeding a valve opening pressure to move between (i) a normally closed position, and (ii) an open position permitting fluid flow through the valve opening. The dispensing valve defines a dispensing axis defining a direction substantially along which fluid is dispensed from the valve, and further includes an outlet surface over which dispensed fluid flows oriented at an acute angle relative to the dispensing axis for preventing the collection of residual dispensed fluid thereon.

A method for storing fluid and dispensing multiple portions of the stored fluid uses a container defining a variable-volume storage chamber; a dispensing valve including a valve inlet coupled in fluid communication with the variable-volume storage chamber, and an elastic valve member in fluid communication with the valve inlet and defining a normally-closed valve opening; a manually engageable actuator; and a pump including a compressible member defining a compression chamber coupled in fluid communication with the variable-volume storage chamber. Multiple portions of the stored fluid are hermetically sealed in the variable-volume storage chamber. The actuator is manually engageable and movable between (i) a first position wherein the compression chamber defines a first volume, and (ii) a second position wherein the compression chamber defines a second volume less than the first volume. In the second position the fluid in the compression chamber exceeds a valve opening pressure and, in turn, moves the elastic valve member between (i) a normally closed position hermetically sealing the one-way valve and variable-volume storage chamber with respect to ambient atmosphere, and (ii) an open position permitting fluid flow through the valve opening.

Method for dispensing fluids

An apparatus for storing fluid and dispensing multiple portions of the stored fluid has a container defining a variable-volume storage chamber; a dispensing valve including a valve inlet coupled in fluid communication with the variable-volume storage chamber, and an elastic valve member in fluid communication with the valve inlet and defining a normally-closed valve opening; a manually engageable actuator; and a pump including a compressible member defining a compression chamber coupled in fluid communication with the variable-volume storage chamber. Multiple portions of the stored fluid are hermetically sealed in the variable-volume storage chamber. Ready to drink container with nipple and needle penetrable and laser resealable portion, and related method

A wiring connecting system having superior electrical transmission performance with reduced cross talk and improved lacing and termination features is disclosed and includes a base, a wire strip mountable to the base, a connecting block for housing a plurality of electrical contacts and a plurality of cross talk barriers disposed within the connecting block for isolating pairs of the electrical contacts. The wire strip has a plurality of first and second posts alternating along its length. The second posts have a greater width than the first posts. A connecting block for housing a plurality of electrical contacts mounts onto the wire strip. An upper end of the connecting block includes a plurality of first and second teeth alternating along its length with the second teeth have a greater width than the first teeth. The electrical contacts extend from the lower end of the housing to generally align with the openings of the wire strip. A plurality of barriers for electrically shielding pairs of the electrical contacts are disposed within the connecting block housing and substantially surround respective pairs of the electrical contacts. A plug for connecting a cable having a plurality of wires to the connecting block is also disclosed.

High performance wiring connecting system

An outlet door assembly that is retainable in both an open and a closed position is presented. In accordance with the present invention, the door comprises a pair of mounting arms having inwardly extending protrusions which are received in notches for retaining the door in the closed and open position. In one embodiment the connector housing has an outwardly extending protrusion within each of a pair of notches to define the positions for retaining the protrusions on the door arms. In another embodiment a door holder is employed which has pairs of notches, with one pair of notches receiving the protrusions of the door arms therein for retaining the door in a closed position and another pair of notches receiving the protrusions of the door arms therein for retaining the door in an open position. In both embodiments the door includes a channel for receiving an identification icon therein.

Multimedia bezels designed to receive a variety of connectors and fit within a standard panel cut-out. The bezels include top and bottom notches that engage the edge of the panel cut-out. An opening in the body of the bezel receives the connector. A resilient section allows one of the sets of notches to deflect towards the body for insertion in the panel cut-out. Once within the panel cut-out, the resilient section presses against the edge of the panel cut-out to firmly mount the bezel in the panel. The body of the bezel may be parallel (flat) or at an oblique angle (angled) to the panel. Both the flat and angled embodiments include icon holding grooves for receiving an icon for coding the port. In the flat embodiment, the icon also prevents deflection of the resilient section and acts as a lock. The bezels are side stackable so that a variety of simplex and duplex bezels can be utilized in a panel cut-out.
