The invention relates to high affinity Siglec ligands that are useful for isolating cells that express Siglecs and for delivering agents to cells that express Siglecs. In one embodiment, the invention provides a method for treating cancer in a mammal that involves administering a Siglec ligand of the invention to the mammal, where the Siglec ligand is linked to a therapeutic agent.

High affinity Siglec ligands

A RGB phosphor system for a carbon nanotube (CNT)/field emission device (FED) display operated between about 4-10 kV. The RGB phosphor system is formed on an interior surface of a screen of the CNT/FED display. The RGB phosphor system includes ZnS:Cu, Al (green phosphor), ZnS:Ag,Cl (blue phosphor) and YOS:Eu(red phosphor). The average particle size for each of the green, blue and red phosphors should be about 3-4 microns.

Luminescent materials for a carbon nanotube (CNT) field emission device (FED)

A composition and method of forming an internal neutral density filter on a luminescent screen assembly of a cathode ray tube (CRT) is disclosed. The luminescent screen assembly is formed on an interior surface of a glass faceplate panel of the CRT tube. The luminescent screen assembly includes a patterned light-absorbing matrix that defines three sets of fields corresponding to one of a blue region, a green region and a red region. An internal neutral density filter is formed on the light-absorbing matrix. An array of blue, green and red color phosphors is formed on the internal neutral density filter corresponding to one of the blue region, the green region and the red region defined in the light-absorbing matrix. The internal neutral density filter has a composition including a red pigment, a blue pigment and at least one non-pigmented oxide particle.

Cathode ray tube having an internal neutral density filter

A method of operating a positive tolerance color cathode-ray tube (CRT) having an evacuated envelope with an electron gun and a focus mask therein for generating at least one electron beam. The envelope further includes a faceplate panel having a luminescent screen of color-emitting phosphor stripes on an interior surface thereof. The color-emitting phosphor stripes each have a width slightly smaller than one-third of the screen pitch, such that large clipping and leaving tolerances may be achieved therewith. The focus mask, having a plurality of spaced-apart first conductive electrodes, is located adjacent to an effective picture area of the screen. The spacing between the first conductive electrodes defines a plurality of slots substantially parallel to the color-emitting phosphor stripes on the screen. Each of the first conductive electrodes has a substantially continuous insulating material layer formed on a screen facing side thereof. A plurality of second conductive electrodes (wires) are oriented substantially perpendicular to the plurality of first conductive electrodes and are bonded thereto by the insulating material layer. The method includes directing electron beams toward the color-emitting phosphors on the screen and applying an appropriate differential voltage to the two sets of conductive electrodes to achieve desired clipping and leaving tolerances of the CRT tube.

A method for developing an electrostatic latent charge image formed on a photoreceptor,which is disposed on an interior surface of a faceplate panel,of a CRT,utilizes a developer,having a developing chamber,with a sidewall,closed by a bottom end,and a panel support,at the other end. An opening,is formed through the panel support,to provide access to and support for the faceplate panel,. A panel grid,is disposed in proximity to said interior surface of said faceplate panel,and operated at a first potential to control the electric field from the latent charge image. A tank grid,is disposed within said developer,and spaced from the sidewall,, the bottom,and the panel grid,. A triboelectric gun,is disposed within the developer,for imparting a desired charge polarity to the screen structure material and for distributing the charged screen structure material onto the latent charge image. An electrometer,and a phosphor deposition monitor,monitor the deposition of the charged screen structure material onto the latent charge image; and a controller,terminates the deposition of the charged screen structure material when sufficient material is deposited. A balance board having a deck and a pair of parallel spaced rails supported on the deck. An underlying roller is rotatably mounted to a carriage having a pair of spaced wheel assemblies which rollingly engage respective ones of the rails. The roller engages the underside of the deck when the wheel assemblies engage the rails, and may be tapered to allow multi-directional use of the board.

A spray module 40 for manufacturing a cathode-ray tube (CRT) 10 comprises an enclosure 42 having sidewalls 44, a base 46 attached to the sidewalls 44, for closing one end thereof, and a panel support 48 having an opening, 50 therethrough. The panel support 48 is attached to an opposite end of the sidewalls 44. The spray module 40 has at least one electrostatic spray gun 36 therein for spraying charged screen structure material through the opening 50 in the panel support 48 and onto an interior surface of a faceplate panel 12 of the CRT 10. The spray module 40 includes a primary shield assembly 55 disposed within the enclosure 42 and extending through the opening 50 in the panel support 48. A secondary shield assembly 56 also is disposed within the enclosure 42 The primary and secondary shield assemblies 55 and 56, respectively, direct the charged screen structure material toward the interior surface of the panel 12, thereby increasing the transfer efficiency of the spray gun 36. A collecting tray 54 also is utilized to catch the spent spray which falls to the bottom of the spray module 40. The tray 54 is inclined toward a drain 100 that directs the spent material out of the spray module 40.

In accordance with the present invention, a method of electro-photographically manufacturing a luminescent screen assembly on an interior surface of a faceplate panel 12 for a color CRT 10 includes the steps of coating the interior surface of the faceplate panel with a volatilizable, organic conductive solution to form an organic conductive (OC) layer 32, and overcoating the OC layer with a volatilizable, organic photoconductive solution to form an organic photoconductive (OPC) layer 34. The step of overcoating the OC layer to form the OPC layer is improved by the substeps of: grounding the OC layer; providing an organic photoconductive (OPC) solution comprising a resin, an electron donor material and electron acceptor material, and a suitable solvent; and spraying electrostatically-charged droplets of the OPC solution onto the OC layer, with at least one electrostatic spray gun 47, to provide an OPC layer, having uniform thickness, overlying the OC layer.

A method of manufacturing a luminescent screen assembly on an interior surface of a faceplate panel 12 for a color CRT 10 includes the steps of uniformly applying a solution of a material to form an organic conductive (OC) layer and overcoating the OC layer with a solution to form an organic photoconductive (OPC) layer, on the interior surface of the faceplate panel. The OPC layer 34 is conditioned by directing a stream of dry gas thereon to warm the OPC layer to a preheat temperature, while maintaining the panel at a panel temperature less than the preheat temperature. The OPC layer is exposed to IR radiation to rapidly increase the temperature of the OPC layer to a curing temperature, greater than the preheat temperature, to remove some of the volatilizable constituents from the OPC layer, without substantially increasing the temperature of the panel. The OPC layer is then cooled by directing at least one stream of cool gas onto the surface thereof, to lower the temperature of the OPC layer to a subsequent processing temperature.

In accordance with the present invention, a method of electrophotographically manufacturing a luminescent screen assembly for a color CRT 10 on an interior surface of a faceplate panel 12 is described. A volatilizable organic conductive (OC) layer 32 is provided on the interior surface of the panel and a volatilizable organic photoconductive (OPC) layer 34 overlies the OC layer 32. The method includes the steps of: establishing a substantially uniform electrostatic charge on the OPC layer; exposing selected areas of the OPC layer to visible light to affect the charge thereon; developing the selected areas of the OPC layer with a triboelectrically charged, dry-powdered, first color-emitting phosphor; sequentially repeating the charging, exposing and developing sequence for triboelectrically charged, dry-powdered, second and third color-emitting phosphors to form a luminescent screen comprising picture elements of triads of color-emitting phosphors; fixing the phosphors to the underlying OPC layer with a suitable fixative; filming the phosphors; and aluminizing the filmed phosphors. The present method is an improvement over prior methods because the fixing step utilizes an electrostatic spray to uniformly contact the phosphors and the underlying OPC layer with the fixative, without moving the phosphors.

The method of electrophotographically manufacturing a screen assembly on an interior surface of a viewing faceplate of a panel for a color CRT, according to the present invention, includes the steps of forming a volatilisable organic conductive layer on the interior surface of the viewing faceplate and overcoating the organic conductive layer with an organic photoconductive solution to form a volatilizable organic photoconductive layer. The conductive solution, comprising a polyelectrolyte and a diluent, is applied to the interior surface of the viewing faceplate by spraying, to form the conductive layer.
