This document describes an automated external defibrillator comprising a control configured to switch between a pediatric operating mode and an adult operating mode, wherein each operating mode comprises a mode-specific energy configuration and a mode-specific user configuration; an indicator configured to provide an indication of the operating mode in use during a resuscitation process; one or more processors configured to switch to the mode-specific energy configuration and the mode-specific user configuration upon a change of operating mode between the pediatric operating mode and the adult operating mode such that the automated external defibrillator delivers a defibrillating shock to a patient based on the mode-specific energy configuration; and an interface of the automated external defibrillator provides resuscitation instructions to a user based on the mode-specific user configuration.

A wearable drug delivery device includes an injector having a housing, a reservoir, a needle or cannula, a drive mechanism for urging drug product out of the reservoir, through the needle or cannula, and to a patient, and an activator mechanism disposed on a surface of the housing for activating the drive mechanism. An activation prevention mechanism is coupled to the injector housing and/or activation prevention mechanism to prevent inadvertent actuation of the activator mechanism.

A drug delivery device includes a housing, a reservoir, a cannula, one or more light sources, a label, and a controller. The reservoir is disposed within the housing. The cannula is connected to the reservoir for delivering a drug from the reservoir to the patient. The light sources are disposed adjacent the exterior surface of the housing, and each serves to indicate one of one or more operational conditions of the device. The label is fixed to the housing adjacent the light sources, and includes one or more informational messages. Each informational message is aligned with one of the light sources for conveniently conveying to a user an operational condition of the device as indicated by the corresponding light source. Finally, the controller is operably connected to the reservoir and the light sources. The controller is configured to actuate the reservoir to deliver the drug, and to selectively illuminate the one or more light sources based on the operational condition of the drug delivery device.

This document describes an electrode assembly for use with a defibrillator, the electrode assembly comprising at least one electrode including a first surface that can be affixed to either of a pediatric patient and an adult patient and a second surface, wherein a majority of the second surface includes pictorial instructions related to use of the electrode assembly; and a chest compression sensor attached to the at least one electrode, wherein the at least one electrode is configured to be used on an adult patient when the electrode assembly is in a first orientation, and wherein the at least one electrode is configured to be used on a pediatric patient when the electrode assembly is in a second orientation.

A system and a method for filling an on-body injector includes a needle of the prefilled syringe being aligned with a fill port of the on-body injector. The needle may then be inserted into a guide of a needle cover attached to the on-body injector. An adapter attached to the syringe barrel may guide the needle into a center of the bore of the guide and into the fill port of the on-body injector. The needle may be inserted into the fill port and the adapter may be mechanically coupling to the guide. After the adapter is mechanically coupled to the guide, a volume of the drug of the prefilled syringe may be dispensed into a reservoir of the on-body injector. Once the reservoir is filled to a desired amount, the needle may be removed from the fill port by decoupling the adapter from the guide.

An enteral connector assembly and system () communicates fluid between a bag B' or a bottle B&#x2033; and an enteral feeding set. The system () includes an end cap () that communicates enteral fluid across a barrier () having a specially configured barrier keyway () formed with a barrier port (). The barrier () establishes an interstice () that when combined with the spike barrier () prevents introduction of and fluid communication with legal intravenous spikes (LS) and other incompatible connectors, while enabling connection to and fluid communication with compatible components such as an interconnect () having multiple tines () that include specially shaped tips () that extend across the interstice () to pierce a seal, septum, and/or sealing membrane and form a fluid pathway.
