Methods and systems are disclosed herein for updating a knowledge graph based on a user confirmation. A media guidance application receives a user communication and isolates a term of the user communication. The media guidance application identifies a candidate component of a knowledge graph associated with the term. The media guidance application requests user input directed to confirming whether the term is associated with the candidate component. In response to receiving the user input, the media guidance application modifies a strength of association between the term and the component.

A media guidance application may generate for display a listing for a media asset, wherein a play length of the media asset includes a non-selectable play length portion and a selectable play length portion. The media guidance application may generate for display a first scene option corresponding to a first scene and a second scene option corresponding to a second scene. The media guidance application may receive a user selection of the first or second scene option and incorporate the selected scene into the selectable play length portion of the media asset. The media guidance application may generate for display the media asset with the selected scene incorporated into the selectable play length portion.

Systems and methods for presenting user selected scenes

A device for providing treatment is disclosed. The device provides proper skin electrical conductivity while still being minimally invasive by adhering to the patient's skin that also implements safety measures that off-the-shelf electrode options do not have. This device includes a graphite powder-based skin counter electrode that has a graphite powder suspended in an electrolyte gel that allows for electrochemical conduction between the graphite particles in the graphite powder. The gel is spread over a first side of a hydrogel layer. A device housing is mounted on the hydrogel layer over the first side. The device housing contains the electrolyte gel and graphite powder, defines an opening or lead opening as well as an empty expansion chamber for gaseous anodic byproduct. A metallic wire or rod extends from the electrolyte gel and through the housing opening and connects to a potentiostat. The second side of the hydrogel layer is adhered to the skin of the patient. The graphite powder-based skin counter electrode device takes into account safety.

A convertible force latching system includes two complementary connector bodies. Each connector body has a first mating face under which two series of magnets oriented alternating directions. A moving portion of the latching system allows the connector bodies and the magnets within to alter their alignment by the interaction of a user along a predetermined motion path. In a first arrangement, the series of magnets are aligned with such that the magnets of one connector body are attracted to the magnets of the other connector body. When the user actuation shifts the moving portion, the second arrangement positions the series of magnets such that they are aligned such that the magnets of one connector body are repelled to the magnets of the other connector body.

In various examples, a system for wirelessly transmitting power using resonant magnetic field power transfer includes a device including at least one component to be wirelessly powered. The device includes an elongate shaft and a capture element including a capture coil. A source element for wirelessly supplying power to the device includes a source coil disposed around an opening. The opening is sized to allow the elongate shaft of the device to fit therein. The source is located proximate a surgical access point, wherein, with insertion of the elongate shaft within the opening of the source for surgical access, the capture coil is disposed sufficiently proximate the source coil to allow power to be wirelessly transmitted from the source coil to the capture coil to power the at least one component of the device.

A method and apparatus for metal implant contact detection through capacitive measurements is provided. Capacitive measurement is accomplished with a conductive wire/lead, for example a main needle. The measured capacitance increases as the main needle is moved through the skin and tissues, then jumps when the main needle makes contact with the metal implant, thus proving the metal implant exists as well as detecting the location of the metal implant. The jump in capacitive measurement is detectable because the area of capacitance has increased from the main needle alone to the main needle plus the surface area of the metal implant. The apparatus can include a reference needle for taking reference needle capacitive measurements in the tissues surrounding the metal implant to increase the accuracy during use of the apparatus. A housing is provided for supporting the main and reference needles and supporting or housing apparatus electronics.

Method and apparatus for metal implant contact detection through capacitive measurements

An intraocular implant (IOI) includes a lens structure with variable optical power, a sensor that detects an optical accommodation response, a rechargeable power storage device, a recharging interface, a wireless communication interface, and a controller. The controller can receive information from the sensor indicating an optical accommodation response, control the lens structure to vary the variable optical power based on the information received from the sensor, control the recharging interface to recharge the rechargeable power storage device, and further control the recharging interface to receive power for operation of the IOI, and transmit and receive information through the wireless communication interface.

A method and apparatus for metal implant contact detection through capacitive measurements is provided. Capacitive measurement is accomplished with a conductive wire/lead, for example a main needle. The measured capacitance as the main needle is moved through the skin and tissues increases, then jumps when the main needle makes contact with the metal implant, thus proving the metal implant exists and the location of the metal implant. The jump in capacitive measurement is detectable because the area of capacitance has gone from the main needle to the main needle plus the surface area of the metal implant surface area. The apparatus may also have a reference needle for taking reference needle capacitive measurements in the tissues surrounding the metal implant to increase the accuracy during use of the apparatus. A housing is provided for supporting the main and reference needles and supporting or housing apparatus electronics.

A method and system for bone regeneration is provided that includes an electrical stimulation system for the purpose of accelerating the process of bone healing. The electrical stimulation system includes a coil and a capacitor such that when the coil is powered a pulsed electromagnetic field is generated to accelerate healing. There are also implantable medical devices that include inserts such as an elbow insert. The elbow insert includes or is formed with a repeater coil and a device capacitor, such that when the coil is powered the device coil is powered and delivers a repeater pulsed electromagnetic filed to the surrounding bone. This inductive coupling provides for treatment by both the coil and the repeater coil to accelerate bone healing. The insert may be embodied so it can be used in connection with a plurality of different implantable medical devices.

A slat for use in a rolling shutter is provided. The slat comprises a hooking track located at a first edge of a body and a receiving track located at a second edge of the body. Illustratively, the hooking track has a hook-shaped profile, and the receiving track comprises a lip member and a guard member defining a space adapted to receive therein an engaging track of an adjacent slat. The hooking track and the receiving track are designed to minimize the space required for the rolling shutter to be retracted around a spindle.

In various examples, a system includes a power generating device configured to generate and transfer power to an electrical device. A sterilizable vessel is configured to accommodate the electrical device. The vessel is configured to allow power to be at least partially wirelessly transferred from the power generating device, through the vessel, and to the electrical device. In other examples, a method includes wirelessly powering and/or charging an electrical device disposed within a sterilizable vessel.
