A display includes a first housing portion having graphic openings therein, a second housing portion spaced apart from the first housing portion and a first circuit board having a plurality of light emitting diodes. The first circuit board is disposed between the first housing portion and the second housing. The first housing portion and the second housing portion form a first photon recycling cavity having the plurality of light emitting diodes disposed therein so that light from the plurality of light emitting diodes is indirectly communicated through the graphic opening after reflecting within the photon cavity.

Display with photon recycling cavity

A segmented display includes a first housing portion having graphic openings therein, a second housing portion spaced apart from the first housing portion and a first circuit board comprising a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs). The first circuit board is disposed between the first housing portion and the second housing portion. A first side wall and a second side wall are spaced apart from the first side wall. The first side wall and the second side wall define a plurality of photon recycling cavities in a sequence wherein adjacent photon recycling cavities having a shared end wall. At least one of the LED is disposed in each of the photon recycling cavities. Each LED is associated with an optical element redirecting light within the associated cavity so that light from the light emitting diode is indirectly communicated through the graphic opening after reflecting within the photon recycling cavity.

A light assembly includes a heat pipe having a first condenser portion and a first evaporator portion. The heat pipe has a longitudinally extending wall. A plurality of light sources is disposed at least partially around and thermally coupled to longitudinally extending wall at the first evaporator portion of the heat pipe. A heat sink housing has a heat sink portion, an electronic housing portion and a plurality of fins. The heat sink housing receives the first condenser portion of the heat pipe. The heat sink housing separated from the electronic housing portion by a wall. The electronic defines a drive circuit volume comprising a drive circuit and temperature sensor. The drive circuit reduces current to the light sources in response to the temperature signal.

High intensity discharge light assembly

An assembly includes a contact interface device, a lamp base and a circuit board. This device is connected to the circuit board and is used to bias the circuit board within the center of a cavity of a light bulb. This device contains two or more biasing portions that are connected to one another through a bridge portion. The biasing portions engage an interior threaded portion of the lamp base in order to lock into place and not allow the circuit board to move. The bridge portion allows the biasing portions to counteract one another and suspend the circuit board in the middle of the cavity of the light bulb.

A light assembly includes a heat pipe having a first condenser portion and a first evaporator portion. The heat pipe includes a longitudinally extending wall. A plurality of light sources are disposed at least partially around and thermally coupled to longitudinally extending wall at the first evaporator portion of the heat pipe. A first heat sink housing receives the first condenser portion of the heat pipe.

A light engine includes a first plurality of diodes coupled in series. The first plurality of diodes includes a first anode end and a first cathode end. A second plurality of diodes is coupled in series. The second plurality of diodes includes a second anode end and a second cathode end. A first terminal is electrically coupled to the first cathode end and said second anode end to form a first node. The second terminal is coupled to said first anode end. A third plurality of diodes is coupled in series. The second plurality of diodes includes a third anode end and a third cathode end. The third terminal is coupled to the third cathode end. A fourth terminal is electrically coupled to the second cathode end and the third anode end to form a first node.

Light engine for AC and DC driver architectures for LED lamps

A light assembly includes a cover having an upper portion and a redirection portion. The cover has a longitudinal axis and a housing that is coupled to the cover. A lamp base is coupled to the housing. A circuit board is disposed within the housing. The circuit board has a plurality of light sources thereon. An internal redirection element is coupled to the circuit board and has a curvilinear shaped surface for reflecting a first portion of light from the plurality of light sources through the redirection portion of the cover and transmitting a second portion of light therethrough.
