There are provided an apparatus for mounting a light source in a light fixture and method of assembly of the apparatus. For example, there is provided an apparatus for mounting a light source in a light fixture. The apparatus includes an adjustable fixture including a rail onto which the light source is disposed. The apparatus further includes a spacer disposed perpendicularly to the rail. The spacer also includes a fixture configured to lock the apparatus in a specified configuration that corresponds to a depth of a frame of the light fixture.

Apparatus for mounting light sources in light fixtures and method of assembly thereof

A lighting device includes a light emitting diode (LED) that has a main axis of light emission. The lighting device also includes a lens element positioned adjacent the LED. The lens element has a geometry defined by at least partial revolution of a cross-sectional profile around an axis of revolution. The lens element is positioned relative to the LED such that the axis of revolution crosses the main axis of light emission of the LED. The lens element is operative to apply total internal reflection to at least some light rays emitted from the LED.

Lighting device with efficient light-spreading lens system

Provided is a lighting subassembly that includes a printed circuit board having one or more lighting elements thereon and a single through-hole at a center region thereof for air flow, a lens to cover the one or more lighting elements, and an overmold body covering the lighting assembly. The overmold body secures the lens in place and covers a back surface of the printed circuit board opposite the one or more lighting elements and includes a plurality of through-holes corresponding to the through-hole of the printed circuit board. A vent is also included in the lighting subassembly and is disposed adjacent to the through-hole of the printed circuit board in between the overmold body and the printed circuit board, configured to only allow air to flow therethrough such that the through-holes and the vent together create a venting system to allow airflow through the lighting subassembly.

Pressure equalized lighting subassembly

A connector is provided to be assembled on a first illumination element and configured to be releasably coupled to a mating connector on a second illumination element. The connector includes a connection element comprising a conductor. The conductor comprises a first end coupled to a cable extending through the connection element, and a second end is releasably connected to an end of a mating conductor of the mating connector. A mounting member is configured to secure the connection element to the first illumination element, and a first gap is defined between an internal surface of the mounting member and the external surface of the connection element. A first sealing element is coupled to the mounting member and the connection element; and a second sealing element is coupled to the mounting member and the cable.

Connector, connector assembly and lighting system

The present disclosure is directed to a lighting system, the lighting system comprising at least two lighting modules. Each lighting modules includes a plurality of light emitting elements which are electrically coupled to one another. The lighting system further comprises a suspension assembly which is configured for longitudinally attaching to the at least two lighting modules to be arranged as two lighting modules adjacent to each other. The suspension assembly includes a first section configured for attaching to one of the two adjacent lighting modules, and a second section configured for attaching to the other one of the two adjacent lighting modules. The first section and the second section are mechanically connected for adjusting the longitudinal distance between the two adjacent lighting modules.

Lighting system

A lighting device includes an elongated support member, first and second printed circuit boards, at least one first LED, at least one second LED and at least one lens element. The elongated support member includes first and second sides, the first and second PCBs coupled to the first and second sides of the elongated support member, respectively, the at least one first LED mounted on the first PCB and the at least one second LED mounted on the second PCB, each lens element includes at least one lens, the lens element mounted on the PCB at a location such that each lens substantially surrounds a respective one of the LEDs.

Double-sided LED lighting device

Light emitters are made of one or more cladded flat optical fibers having opposite flat sides and disruptions along at least a portion of the length of the fibers to cause light entering at least one end to be emitted from at least one side. The ends of the flat optical fibers may have substantially the same thickness as a light source and a width substantially equal to or substantially greater than the width of the light source for ease of optically coupling one or more such light sources to the flat optical fiber ends.

Lighting assembly comprises an optical fiber light guide panel member having a light conducting core cladded on opposite sides by cladding made of optically transparent material having a lower index of refraction than the light conducting core to cause total internal reflection of conducted light within the light conducting core at the core-cladding interface. Disruptions at one or more areas of the cladding cause conducted light within the light conducting core to be emitted from one or more areas of the panel member. Electrical circuitry is bonded to one or both sides of the cladding. One or more LEDs embedded in the panel member are in electrical conduct with the electrical circuitry and optically coupled to the light conducting core.

Flat optical fiber lighting assembly with integrated electrical circuitry

A system for simulating neon light comprising an elongated guide containing outer surface and a channel; a housing containing an engagement member and area for receiving a light engine; and the light engine. The light engine comprising a flexible printed circuit (FPC), a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) attached to the FPC, and a plurality of electrical connectors all in contact with a power conductor. The FPC also includes a gathering of material between each of the plurality of electrical connectors. Also included is a method for reducing the stress within the light engine.

Systems and methods for simulating neon lighting using light emitting diodes

An LED light module and a backlit sign using at least one of the LED light modules are described. The LED light module comprises at least two LED light sources that are spaced apart from each other. Each of the LED light sources is covered by a lens and at least two of the lenses have a different shape than each other. The LED light module produces a uniform intensity of light on a backlit surface. The LED light module can include three LED light sources. Two of the lenses covering the LED light sources emit light that is distributed off-axis and a third of the lenses covering the LED light sources emits light that is distributed substantially on-axis. The backlit sign comprises a housing, at least one LED light module disposed in the housing and a backlit surface on the housing extending over the LED modules.

A method of marring a fiber optic substrate by supporting a length of the substrate on a tapered surface of an elongate support and causing relative movement between at least one roller and the support lengthwise of the support with the roller pressing the substrate against the tapered surface and the roller rolling along the substrate. At least one of the roller and the support include an abrasive surface for marring the substrate during such relative movement therebetween.

Methods and systems for marring fiber optic substrates may include rollers with abrasive surfaces that press lengths of the substrates against elongated supports, which may be tapered, during relative lengthwise movement between the rollers and supports; abrasive sheets that are vibrated against the substrates; abrasive flap wheels that are rotated to cause flexible abrasive flaps on the wheels to strike the substrates; rotating blades that cut a transverse marring pattern in the substrates; hammers having abrasive surfaces that are oscillated to strike the substrates; and water jet abrasive slurries that are directed at the substrates.

An infrared identification device includes a light emitting panel member that receives light from an infrared light source for conduction within the panel member and emission from a light emitting surface area on one side of the panel member, which is relatively easy to detect at night when viewed through night vision equipment. The device may be capable of functioning in an interrogation mode, allowing the device to be activated remotely by a predetermined signal frequency, code signal or pulse signal and send out a signal response.
