A wireless hub includes a vehicle power connector that can draw power from a vehicle battery on a vehicle, a first wireless transmission circuit that can send or receive data with base stations in a long-range wireless network, a second wireless transmission circuit that can provide a short-range wireless network and to transfer data to and from electronic devices, and a network processor that can process data in the first wireless transmission circuit and the second wireless transmission circuit. The wireless hub has an antenna array for millimeter wave communications. Antenna array beamforming techniques can be applied in various wireless systems, including cellular networks, Wi-Fi, radar systems, and satellite communications, to improve coverage, capacity, and link quality. Using antenna arrays, the system can shape and direct the radiation pattern of the transmitted or received signal. Beam steering can steer the main lobe of the radiation pattern in a particular direction. This allows the system to focus the transmitted or received energy towards the intended target, resulting in improved signal strength and reduced interference from other directions.

Vehicle wireless hub

A radio frequency (RF) amplifier circuit includes a first impedance matching circuit configured to receive an input RF signal, a control circuit configured to produce a band control signal according to the frequency of the input RF signal, an RF amplifier having its input connected to the first impedance matching circuit. The RF amplifier can produce an amplified RF signal in response to the input RF signal. A second impedance matching circuit can receive the amplified RF signal from the RF amplifier. At least one of the first impedance matching circuit and the second impedance matching circuit has an impedance that is adjustable by the band control signal. A multi-band filter can switch the amplified RF signal from the second impedance matching circuit to one of selectable narrow-band filters in response to the band control signal.

A multi-band wireless system includes a wireless device and a detachable radio card. The wireless device includes an application processor, an electric interface, and an antenna. The detachable radio card can be mounted onto the electric interface. The detachable radio card includes a base band processor, a radio-frequency transceiver, a multi-band power amplifier module, and a radio controller.

Universal radio card for wireless devices

A broad-band linear amplifier circuit includes a driver amplifier to produce a first amplified radio frequency (RF) signal in a first single RF band in response to a first input RF signal and to produce a second amplified RF signal in a second single RF band in response to a second input RF signal. The first single RF band and the second single RF band reside in a broad band that has a bandwidth more than two times a bandwidth of the first single RF band or the second single RF band. A sensing circuit can sense a power, a gain, or a phase of the first output RF signal and the second output RF signal, and to produce a sensing signal. A gain control circuit controls gain variation of the driver amplifier in response to the sensing signal.
