Aspects of the disclosure are directed to adaptive correction of radar channel-to-channel time-dependent errors. In accordance with one aspect, the adaptive correction of radar channel-to-channel time-dependent errors includes transforming a digitized data flow to generate a transformed data flow; detecting the transformed data flow to generate a detected data flow; focusing the detected data flow to generate a focused data flow; and aligning the focused data flow to generate a corrected data flow. In one aspect, it may further include performing a direction of arrival (DOA) processing on the corrected data flow to generate a resolved data set, processing the resolved data set to generate a post-processed data set, radiating a transmit radar waveform, capturing a receive radar waveform related to the transmit radar waveform and generating the digitized data flow based on the receive radar waveform.

Adaptive correction of radar channel-to-channel time-dependent errors

Aspects of the disclosure are directed towards obstacle position and extent measurement. In accordance with one aspect, obstacle detection includes creating one or more interferometric measurements to generate a flow of response position locations using a flow of range/Doppler detections by fitting a parametric expression; and deriving one or more scatterer positions and obstacle position and extent measurements from the flow of response position locations.

An apparatus and method for generating a radar image including acquiring a first plurality of data in a first domain, wherein one or more of the first plurality of data include data of a moving target engaged in a turning motion at a rotational rate greater than a threshold; converting the first plurality of data from the first domain to a second plurality of data in a second domain, wherein the second domain is a first two-dimensional transformation of the first domain; extracting one or more of the second plurality of data; converting the one or more of the extracted second plurality of data to a third plurality of data in a third domain, wherein the third domain is a second two-dimensional transformation of the second domain; phase compensating the third plurality of data; and transforming the phase compensated third plurality of data to generate the radar image.
