Methods and system for item matching are described. In one embodiment, compatibility-based text for an item may be accessed. A compatibility identifier may be identified based on the compatibility-based text. The compatibility identifier may be associated with an item cluster. The compatibility identifier may be used to identify a plurality of matching items. A result may be provided based on identification of the plurality of matching items. Additional methods and systems are disclosed.

Item matching

Methods and system for text conversion are described. In one embodiment, free-form text associated with an item may be received. The item may be identified based on the free-form text. The item may be compatible with a parent item. The parent item may be identified based on the free-form text. An item descriptor may be identified in the free-form text. The item descriptor may be a particular term of the free-form text. Compatibility-based text may be constructed for the item based on identification of the parent item and the item descriptor. The compatibility-based text may be capable of being used to identify a plurality of matching items. Additional methods and systems are disclosed.

Text conversion

Methods and systems to search a data source based on compatibility with an application. The system receives a first query that includes keywords and identifies at least one keyword in the first query as application information. The application information describes a first application. Next the system infers remaining keywords in the first query as item information that describe a first item that is sought on a network-based marketplace. The first item is a part that is compatible with the first application. Next, the system searches a data storage device to identify a first listing on the data storage device as matched. The first listing includes an item for sale on the network-based marketplace and listing item information that matches the item information in the first query. The first listing further includes listing application information that is matched based on the application information.

Systems and methods to search a data source based on a compatibility with an application

A computer-implemented system and method for providing information tagging in a networked system is disclosed. The apparatus in an example embodiment includes a tag engine configured to process a database of categorized product listings; to receive a user-provided tag associated with at least one of the product listings; to retain the user-provided tag; and to serve the user-provided tag to a user viewing at least one of the product listings.

Methods and systems to supplement search results returned to a buyer of parts are described. The system receives a first query from a buyer. The first query includes keywords. The system identifies at least one compatibility keyword included in the keywords. The system further infers that the other keywords in the query are item information that describes a part that is sought for on a network-based marketplace. The system further infers the part has a compatibility based on the compatibility keywords. Next, the system searches a data storage device based on the item information and the compatibility keywords to identify a first listing as matched. Finally, the system presents the first listing describing the matched part. The matched part is indicated as compatible by supplementing the presentation of the first listing with the compatibility keywords from the first query.

Systems and methods to supplement search results returned to a buyer of parts

A method including: receiving at a server a first request from a first provider to retrieve a first configuration for a first lookup order; determining the first configuration for the first lookup order using the server based at least in part on both an ordering specified by the first lookup order and the first call being through the direct dependency relationship; providing the first configuration to the first provider; receiving at the server a second request from the first provider to retrieve a second configuration for a second lookup order; determining the second configuration for the second lookup order using the server based at least in part on both an ordering specified by the second lookup order and the second call to the first provider by the application being through the transitive dependency relationship; and providing the second configuration to the first provider. System and method for providing information tagging in a networked system

A method including receiving on a server a request from a first provider to retrieve a configuration for a lookup order. The method also can include determining the configuration for the lookup order using the server based at least in part on whether the call to the first provider by the application is through the direct dependency relationship or through the transitive dependency relationship. The method further can include providing the configuration for the lookup order to the first provider. The method additionally can include receiving first information at the application that is based at least in part on the configuration for the lookup order. The method further can include providing second information for at least a portion of a web page that is based at least in part on the first information. Other embodiments are provided.

The present invention is generally directed to methods, systems, and computer program products for configuring applications at runtime. Embodiments of the invention decouple code and configuration. Application configuration is externalized, allowing configuration to be composed at runtime based on client context. A client context for an application is sent to a configuration manager. One or more pluggable configuration providers at the configuration manager deduce values for use in configuring the application at runtime. Deduced values are composed into a configuration and the configuration returned to the application. Using the values in the composed configuration, the application can be configured to operate in the client context.
