RF coaxial connectors, configured for multiple locking engagements, include a male connector and a female connector. The male connector has a male connector central conductor, a male connector dielectric positionable over a section of the male connector central conductor, a male connector bushing positionable over the male connector dielectric and over a portion of the male connector central conductor, a male connector outer conductor positionable over the male connector dielectric and at least a portion of the male connector bushing, the male connector outer conductor. The female connector has a female connector central conductor, a female connector dielectric positionable over at least a portion of the female connector central conductor, a female connector outer conductor positionable over at least a portion of the female connector central conductor and the female connector dielectric, and a female connector locking element positionable over the female connector outer conductor.

A spring-loaded interconnect includes a forward interconnect subassembly and a rearward interconnect subassembly with a flexible cable extending between each subassembly. The flexible cable includes a plurality of curved sections, and a plurality of substantially straight sections integral with the plurality of curved sections. The plurality of curved sections and the plurality of substantially straight sections are pre-configured within the spring-loaded interconnect such that the flexible cable and a spring compress, relax, and axially travel a predetermined distance when at least one external load is applied to at least one end of the spring-loaded interconnect.

A coaxial cable connector assembly includes a coupler, a rear body assembly rotatably engaged with the coupler, the rear body assembly including a stationary retention member defining an stationary retention member inner channel surface and one or more stationary retention member grooves extending inwardly from the stationary retention member inner channel surface, a movable retention member that is movable with respect to the stationary retention member in an axial direction, the movable retention member defining a movable retention member inner channel surface and one or more movable retention member grooves extending inwardly from the movable retention member inner channel surface, the one or more movable retention member grooves defining a movable retention member groove surface, and one or more compression rings positioned at least partially within the one or more stationary retention member grooves.

Coaxial cable connector assemblies having rear body retention members and methods for using the same

Miniaturized electrical connector systems are disclosed herein. In exemplary aspects disclosed herein, the connector system includes a twinaxial female connector having a housing and at least one dielectric positioned therein. The at least one dielectric defines two parallel channels configured to receive at least a portion of two conductors of a twinaxial cable. The twinaxial female connector includes an oval interface configured to orient and align the conductors of the twinaxial cable with mating pins of a male connector. The twinaxial female connector further includes two spring-type interconnects positioned within the oval interface, each configured to directly contact a conductor of the twinaxial cable and a mating pin of the male connector. The twinaxial female connector further includes a retaining clip attached to an exterior of the housing with a lever arm biased towards and pivotable from an engaged orientation. Such features reduce the manufacturing complexity, cost, and overall size.

Miniaturized electrical connector systems

A coaxial cable connector for coupling a coaxial cable to an equipment port, the coaxial cable including a center conductor surrounded by a dielectric material, the dielectric material being surrounded by an outer conductor, the coaxial cable connector including: a post including a first end adapted to be inserted into a prepared end of the coaxial cable between the dielectric material and the outer conductor, wherein the post includes a second end including an enlarged shoulder, wherein the enlarged shoulder has a radial face that faces away from the first end of the post, wherein the radial face is substantially flat; a body member adjacent to the post; a coupler including an internally-threaded region for engaging the equipment port; and a grounding member contacting the post and the coupler, wherein the grounding member provides an electrically-conductive grounding path through the post and the coupler while allowing the coupler to rotate, wherein the grounding member includes at least one resilient portion.

A coaxial cable connector includes tubular post, a coupler secured over an end of the tubular post for securing the connector to an appliance, and an outer body secured to the tubular post. An electrical grounding path is maintained between the coupler and the tubular post whether or not the coupler is tightly fastened to the appliance. The electrical grounding path is provided by a resilient, electrically-conductive grounding member disposed between the tubular post and the coupler. Alternatively, the connector includes conductive grease at a point where mating portions of the tubular post and coupler have closely matching dimensions.

A coaxial cable connector includes a bonding block lug for receiving a grounding wire. The connector includes a body portion for receiving the end of a cable, a nut for securing the connector to a mating coaxial port, a post extending within the body portion for extending into the cable, a lug secured to the body portion and having a first hole for receiving the grounding wire, and a clamp element for clamping the grounding wire within the lug. The lug may include a second hole that intersects the first hole. The clamp element may be a set screw, press-fit pin, or the like extending within the second hole for selectively engaging the grounding wire. The set screw may incorporate security features to prevent removal of the grounding wire. The bonding block lug can be incorporated within a variety of connectors, including axially-compressed connectors.

A tamper-resistant coaxial terminator includes an inner body rotatably captivated within an outer shield. A deformable portion of the inner body extends within an annular recess formed in the outer shield. An optional RF port, containing a resistor, is press-fit within the inner body. The RF port, or alternatively, the inner body, is internally-threaded for engaging the outer conductor of an equipment port. A seal ring extends over the outer conductor of the equipment port and is urged by the outer shield to directly engage the internally-threaded portion of the terminator. A seal is also optionally disposed between the outer shield and the inner body to minimize moisture induced corrosion. A shipping cap, usable at either end of the terminator, helps protect the terminator during shipment and prevents entry of debris.

Coaxial cable connector with grounding member

An axially-compressible connector () for a hardline coaxial cable () has a housing that includes a body (), a coupling nut () and a compression can (). A nonmetallic sleeve (), which is mounted within the housing, has a tubular portion and an integral insulator portion. The insulator portion holds a contact () that has arms () for seizing an inner conductor () of the hardline coaxial cable. A ferrule () is slip fit mounted within the housing, and seizes an outer conductor () of the hardline coaxial cable. A gripping member () is mounted within the housing and seizes a jacket () of the hardline coaxial cable. An actuator (), which is mounted within the housing around a portion of the tubular portion of the sleeve, has an angled surface () to guide an end of the outer conductor toward the tubular portion of the sleeve, as the tubular portion of the sleeve is inserted into the end of the coaxial cable. The jacket is gripped by the gripping member only after the outer conductor is seized by the ferrule.
